Agreed, and not even close.A couple of his books that were made into movies, were decent movies, but IMO, no where as good as the book.
Take, for example, TSOAF (not necessarily the 'best' one, but in the top-bunch)...
Good movie, and close enough to the book that you can say it's the same story (unlike most book-to-movies), but missing nearly 80% of the nuance which made the book fantastic - e.g. both book/movie depicted a (relatively) small detonation, but book goes into background with failed multi-stage TND and a bit of the mechanics behind it; definately read. the. book.
