There is almost nothing new under the sun, in firearms design. They had big bolt action rifles
in World war one, which were just scaled up military rifles, to shoot tanks with, and they worked
on the tanks of that time. The Mondragon did appear before the Garand, but also was a piece of
crap! Same with the Russian semi-auto Tokarev. The difference was the Garand was a wonder
of engineering at the time, and I to this day, wouldnt feel outgunned with one. Guys like Ronnie
Barrett just took ideas and greatly IMPROVED upon them. The 1911 Colt was invented over a
hundred years ago, but is still one of the best semi-auto pistols on the market.
