Today's science lesson: Evil Carbon Dioxide
If only our Government would read this and realize how stupid they are.

This is shocking! Since it doesn't fit the liberal agenda, must be the "other truth."

Where Does Carbon Dioxide Really Come From?
Professor Ian Plimer's book in a brief summary:
    PLIMER
: "Okay, here's the bombshell. The volcanic eruption in Iceland. Since its first spewing of volcanic ash, it has, in just FOUR DAYS, NEGATED EVERY SINGLE EFFORT you have made in the past five years to control CO2 emissions on our planet - all of you.
Of course, you know about this evil carbon dioxide that we are trying to suppress - it's that vital chemical compound that every plant requires to live and grow and to synthesize into oxygen for us humans and all animal life.
I know....it's very disheartening to realize that all of the carbon emission savings you have accomplished while suffering the inconvenience and expense of driving Prius hybrids, buying fabric grocery bags, sitting up till midnight to finish your kids "The Green Revolution" science project, throwing out all of your non-green cleaning supplies, using only two squares of toilet paper, putting a brick in your toilet tank reservoir, selling your SUV and speedboat, vacationing at home instead of abroad, nearly getting hit every day on your bicycle, replacing all of your 50 cent light bulbs with $10.00 light bulbs.....well, all of those things you have done have all gone down the tubes in just four days!
The volcanic ash emitted into the Earth's atmosphere in just four days - yes, FOUR DAYS - by that volcano in Iceland has totally erased every single effort you have made to reduce the evil beast, carbon. And there are around 200 active volcanoes on the planet spewing out this crud at any one time - EVERY DAY.
I don't really want to rain on your parade too much, but I should mention that when the volcano Mt Pinatubo erupted in the Philippines in 1991, it spewed out more greenhouse gases into the atmosphere than the entire human race had emitted in all its years on earth.
Yes, folks, Mt Pinatubo was active for over One year - think about it.
Of course, I shouldn't spoil this 'touchy-feely tree-hugging' moment and mention the effect of natural solar and cosmic activity, and the well-recognized 800-year global heating and cooling cycle, which keeps happening despite our completely insignificant efforts to affect climate change.
And I do wish I had a silver lining to this volcanic ash cloud, but the fact of the matter is that the wildfire season across the western USA and Australia this year alone will negate your efforts to reduce carbon in our world for the next two to three years. And it happens every year.
Just remember that your government just tried to impose a whopping carbon tax on you, on the basis of the BOGUS 'human-caused' climate-change scenario.
Hey, isn't it interesting how they don't mention 'Global Warming' anymore, but just 'Climate Change.
It's because the planet has COOLED by 0.7 degrees in the past century and these global warming advocates got caught with their pants down.
And, just keep in mind that you might yet have an Emissions Trading Scheme - that whopping new tax - imposed on you by your government, that will achieve absolutely nothing except make you poorer.
It won't stop any volcanoes from erupting, that's for sure.

Well, to be fair, CO (carbon monoxide), not as much CO2, is more the concern. Of course if you research the periods in earths history, the carbon content in the air of today is no where near many of those periods of time. You certainly can't blame man or farting cows for those times. I find it a bit funny that man can think they can have more of an effect on the earth's temperature than the earth itself.

I've worked in environmental compliance, primarily with air quality, for over 40 years. I have a lot of knowledge about the sources and sinks of CO2, the chemistry involved, and the laws and regulations pertaining to it. The whole "Global Warming" (which is now being called, "Climate Change") is the biggest scam ever foisted on the public. (I may have to modify that once we know what the Covid panic cost us). The Europeans started the ball rolling. They primarily use natural gas for fuel. (Most of it comes from Russia, and that factors in as well.) America still uses a lot of coal. Coal is almost entirely carbon while natural gas is made of hydrogen and carbon. If you TAX CO2, American industries would have to pay more, thus making European goods cheaper by comparison. Of course the Europeans jumped all over that. Then some folks started getting into doing CO2 offset credit trading (Al Gore owns part of a company that does that), and suddenly there were more ways of sucking money out of the public. Global Warming was not addressed in the last revision to the Clean Air Act, but (taking a cue from the ATF), the EPA found a way to call it a threat to the public and regulate it without having a law to do so. Is the climate changing? Probably so. Is it because of human activities? Only very, very slightly, and that's if you consider the planet to be a static system. (In reality, it's not static, it's dynamic. More CO2 means more plant conversion into cellulose. Bigger plants, more of them, etc.)

But there are SCIENTISTS insisting that it's a severe problem! Absolutely. If you are a scientist, you need money for research. To get money, you need to show priority. Call something a disaster and suddenly you have the public's attention. Then you just tie your research into Global Warming and $$$ come your way. "The Effects of Global Warming on Hurricanes". "The Effects of Global Warming on Fevers in Babies in Third World Countries". (By the way, that last one was an actual paper.) Most of what is termed "science" today is actually "pop-sci". It's pseudoscience that gets the public's attention.

Follow the money. It will lead you to the source of the corruption.

One last note, someone mentioned carbon monoxide. CO is only a very local issue, and is generally due to vehicles crowded into enclosed areas. Back in the 90's, Syracuse NY and the surrounding counties were declared Nonattainment Areas for carbon monoxide, based on local instrument readings. They get a lot of snow and rain, so one of the local monitors was set up under a highway overpass in the middle of town, where there is a university and a hospital. Traffic was often backed up and CO levels were high. Once the economic impact of the new designation was understood, the monitor was moved out from under the overpass and suddenly the entire area was OK for CO. Of course, it took 5 years for the paperwork to make that happen was finished. CO is not a significant contributor to Global Warming, so what is regulated under that is primarily CO2 and methane.

The reason the bubonic plague was so virulent was that many huddled together from the cold during of a little ice age of the 1300's.

You don't want him, he's always been a bit cold. I couldn't stand the way he looked down his nose at everyone.
He had a house near Nashville at one time. He used more electricity in a month than the average home consumed per year. Fortunately, he didn't get the votes of his home state when he ran for President.

Natural gas is 23x more potent than co2 as a global warmer / greenhouse gas.
Lots of coming from the seabed off the US east and west coasts:

SF6 is a potent greenhouse gas. It has little use, mainly in high voltage circuit breakers. Banning it has made the breakers grow in size by 3x.

And every few years we get an new super expensive residential and auto AC freon to fight the "warming".

Cali is going to ban SF6. They have no idea how many high and medium voltage breakers will have to be replaced. Buy stock in the breaker manufacturers now.
