If I'd have had a brownie mix, or enough gumption to do scratch, I'd have done that rather than using the cake mix for the 'dry' ingredient. I'll be freezing half this pan, otherwise it would be gone in 2 days.I have often wondered what would be the best way to add cherries to brownies. I have bought pies filling for brownies more then once and just couldn’t figure out on top on bottom or a layer between the brownies. I have even bought dried cherries for brownies and again chickened out.
I have 2 brownies mixes right now in my pantry. All of the walnuts are gone but I do have pecans. I won’t make brownies unless I have company coming. I certainly don’t need a who pan to my self.
My country grandma from Kaufman County always told us kids that the only thing you can mess up is a cake.If I'd have had a brownie mix, or enough gumption to do scratch, I'd have done that rather than using the cake mix for the 'dry' ingredient. If it's a small packet that you have? I'd do brownie mix as directed, 1/2 can pie filling (freeze the rest in a baggie, 6mo, thaw on counter), pecans, and a hefty splash of Kirsch if you have it.
You could always reconstitute the dried cherries in the Kirsch if you still have them, lol, instead of the pie filling.
Give it a try! Be brave!!
Endless supply of cinnamon rolls? I can't have any, I like them too much!I was going to do cheeseburgers, but forgot to buy cheese at the store today... Now, I have to drive back to the next town over tomorrow...just for cheese...
So, tonight is going to be teriyaki chicken wings and leftover macaroni salad with shrimp, and sweet tea... If I am good, a cinnamon roll for later...
No, not endless, I make a batch of something, like cinnamon rolls, and freeze them... I take one out per day for my treat... Sometimes, it's cookies, or cake... Something sweet... Yeah, I have to work harder to get rid of the results, but I don't mind... At 70, I am in pretty good shape for the shape I am in...Endless supply of cinnamon rolls? I hear you, 73 and maintaining weight around 180, I did cut out sweets. Just envious when I see you eating cinnamon rolls. I have good willpower although last week I ate a half gallon of ice cream (not all in one day) when I had a tooth pulled. No, not endless, I make a batch of something, like cinnamon rolls, and freeze them... LOL, I do work out at least three times a week, sometimes four, and try and stay in shape (they say round is a shape, but I am not buying that)... I love to cook, and bake... and do love my sweets... everything in moderation (though some days the temptation is too much, and I have to pay for it by working it off...)I hear you, 73 and maintaining weight around 180, I did cut out sweets.
