Get some brass pipe screens. Now put a patch on a jag and the pipe screen on top of that. The combo removes lead from a barrel real quick.

Or you can use a 50/50 combo of H2O2 and acetic acid. The dip cleans out lead RFN, however the liquid is somewhat toxic after it's used so take the appropriate precautions.

I think I got it done with mineral spirits. As mentioned before I think it’s alox since it cleaned up so easily!

Just ordered lee shell holders for my press after just now finding out that the ones that came with the press are for the priming tool only. All part of the learning process I guess

I know it’s been recommended to run even new brass through the resizing die before loading them but I got to excited looking at all my reloading stuff so I used the hand priming tool on two new shell. I’m ok now. I can wait for the shell holders to get here. And yes it was pretty cool to put a primer in a shell

Expect your neck tension to be on the tight side for the first loading. Just keep that in mind while developing a load.

Will the chamfer tool help with this at all on new brass? Or is that just the way it is

I know it is new but it is a REALLY good idea to run it through a sizer. Even the best make mistakes and it also helps remove neck dings and true up mouths! Once you get to a progressive it is an afterthought since it free in that case. You are moving right along man, congrats!

Loaded 9, 40, and 223 today. Cut a bushing for 62gr 223 I am loading for a LEO order and did a little wiring for the 223 processor control box when I had time.

Congrats unicom. We’ve all been there; some more recently than others!
I was too shy to ask questions. Deavos really taught me a lot. That guy knows his shit!

Thanks. I figured I was ok if that ruined two shells and primers I had to try part of the kit.

You can deprime the live primers. Some people say that's a no-no but I've done it a couple hundred times. Just go slow when you do it.

Unicom what cal are you reloading for? Yes, sizing first is best and chamfer the inside of the neck helps. never seen a primer-only shell holder from Lee.

Going to start with 300 blackout. The shell holders that came with the kit are smooth on the bottom and don’t have the part that locks onto the ram. I got the breach lock kit

These I’m guessing are the ones I need for the press itself
