I had to pull the case and auto tranny out of an 80s Blaser. Dang it was heavy, only had a small floor jack in SIL's drive. Putting back in was worse!

Never owned or even drove a 4wd before so this might seem like a dumb question here. Would removing the front half shafts allow you to run it in 2wd until you get a plan together of what you want to do?

No, not if transfer case is borked. ALL power goes thru there.

If it was just a bad front diff on older vehicle- maybe.

I'm thinking that whoever does your service work hasn't been checking/changing the lube in the transfer case.

Oldest son has had two of them.....

One had the OHV VVT troubles....(FoMoCo has been fooling with OHV on V8's for 60yrs....they keep trying...now? they added variable valve timing...what a load of horse puckey....it makes crummy...WORSE) The 5.4 metrication motor is a piece of crap...

The other? Rear axle bearings every year, year & a half....some other baloney...neutral safety lock out?

He has not had the spark plug blowing out of the head issue...yet....(FoMoCo really screwed the pooch with that mess)

Sequoias are nice, but he wants the space. Scrolling through the link you provided shows exactly how much bigger and how much more space a Suburban has. I drive an Expedition EL which is Suburban size. I’d like a Toyota too but they’re too small.

The 5.4 2 valve later January 2003 engines were great. Full length plugs, lash adjusters gtg, it was an engine worth having. Of course ford in their infinite wisdom decided to redesign a good finished product and **** it up with a three valve build like shit.

15 passenger Ford Transit full size with the premium interior package and tinted windows. Put an RV AC unit in the top and a small Honda generator in a custom fabbed compartment in the back. Remove the back seats for cargo space.
