If I'm not mistaken, destroying supplies, weapons and ordinance to keep them out of enemy hands was suppose to be SOP if possible. And i do understand, it's not always possible.

I *think* they really believed it was going to be a non-event and even now, I *think* they’re counting on the short memory of voters. Some of it has to do with amateurs advising the administration, too.
Politically, Congress can now re-program FY22 and outyear dollars for things they want.
Short memory is right…we should never forget.
