    I don't like to drive anywhere without some ability to survive if I had to walk home.
    I keep a backpack in both cars with basic bugout stuff like first aid, batteries, rope, paracord, flashlight, tools, rain ponchos, thermal blanket, matches, magnesium fire starters, multifunction knife, and water and life straw..

    Yep.. My BIG bag has everything. So much that when we had our annual "Disaster" themed safety meeting at work, the boss would say "If we have a disaster, just make sure you can get back to ILExpatriots truck". But I left it in storage in IL.
