I read last week that the AD came out and said he expects the entire team to remain on the field for The Eyes of Texas.
I don't think they had a choice. Well, they had the choice to not play football and walk away from their scholarships I guess.
Maybe next week the AD can tell the band to just stay home that they're being replaced with recordings for the entire game.
I guess "Sticks and stones may break my bones but world will never hurt me!" does not apply the UT sports players or the band. So when did UT start admitting and recruiting whingers like this?
I was there in the 80's and it was already over run with the liberals. From what I understand, it wasn't anything new by the time I got there.
The Aggies would be a great choice.Apologies up front - I think I’ve seen this article already posted once:
“University of Texas Longhorn band won't play "The Eyes of Texas" this weekend after some members say they're unwilling”
University of Texas Longhorn band won't play "The Eyes of Texas" this weekend after some members say they're unwilling
The Longhorn Band will not play the “The Eyes of Texas” at this Saturday’s football game between the University of Texas at Austin and Baylor University after a survey of members revealed several students are refusing to play the traditional alma mater song, according to The Daily Texan.www.texastribune.org
I chose to be a UT fan when I moved to Texas four years ago, but they are apparently too liberal for me to be a fan anymore.
So which college team am I to root for now, A&M?
The Aggies would be a great choice.
Gig 'Em! You should make a game some day and see the band perform at halftime. They are awesome.
Aggies are more conservative than Longhorns?
When I was there, they were WAY more conservative. Maybe it's changed since then, but based on what I see out of Austin, I would still say: "Yes"Aggies are more conservative than Longhorns?
