For gun parts I've been running M-Pro 7 Gun Cleaner in a hot bath. I've been really happy with the M-Pro 7 for cleaning guns and gun parts.

Not sure how it would do for really caked on residue on suppressor parts though.

There's a few different solutions. Be mindful of material you are cleaning. Some cleaner solutions will tarnish or eat finishes, especially ones with acids vinegar or citric. Soap based are good for general cleaner, but not for carbon deposits. Warm is better than cold so I like to run cycle without parts to get solution warm, then drop basket in. I use reds for most things.

I use the Hornady solution. It looks like simple green.

Simple green works well, BUT is harmful to aluminum, some other soft metals, and some plastics. Simple Green has an "aircraft" formula that is expensive, but works very well and is corrosive free.

Citric concentrate, diluted + or - for the particular job.

Switch over to L&R lubricating solution for the final cleaning.

What is your best option to clean an entire slide, barrel, springs, etc?

Is there a good solution for pistol grips or plastic parts that have metal parts inside them?

I know I'm starting to sound lazy but I'm trying to test the limits or how useful this tool can be.

Curious too. Is that just with certain solvents or the gun not fully disassembled?

I just use hot soapy water in my sonic cleaner. It works ok and I haven't had any issues with plastic.

    My basket is plastic.

Lol, I didn't think about the basket. I know I've read not to put plastic in there. Maybe it's certain kinds.
Acid solutions will discolor some plastics. I did a Keltec frame in the Reds solution and it turned it white.

I've found it's a very versatile cleaner. But found there's no one solution to do it all. I use 3 regularly. Reds, dish soap only, and simple green for hard metals.

Are night sights safe for ultrasonic cleaning or any other precautions of what not to do?
