Congrats!!! Turns out that my daughter got invited to a birthday party this weekend and my son's first words were "NOT FAIR!"... So I told him I'd take him to the range while she was at the party. Immediately turned a frown into a big smile! And he wants mommy to go with us so he can see her shoot her gun! (Ruger LCR in .38 spcl) Shooting is an awesome family hobby!

Keep practicing and it'll come! Most importantly, be safe and have fun in the process...

Good on you for tow things. Coming back and posting after an EPIC thread hijack by someone with some mental issues. Two and most importantly for taking your wife to learn how to shoot!

    Big high five!

lol I was more....flabbergasted? at the hi-jack than angry or put off or anything. Just thought it was a really weird direction that things went.

She wants her own gun now and for me to teach her to break them down and clean them and put them back together.

I'm eager to add a new gun to the collection. Definitely a 9mm so we can afford to go more often. I never really understood why people who owned one gun always seem to have like 7 more, but I get it now that I have my own. I think I'm definitely going to be one of those old men who have an entire arsenal.

I think it's safe to say we're both thoroughly hooked. Going to need to start buying ammo in bulk I think. Probably a good thing I have to drive half an hour away to go shoot. I'd go broke feeding the addiction otherwise. Seems to really help with the stress, too.

That's awesome and the best part is that you're having fun.

I'm IAmSupernova's wife. Today was awesome!! The circle on the top right is mine ^_^ Can't wait to go again!
Welcome, and congratulations. Nothing puts a bigger smile on a husbands face than his wife outshooting him. Mine, just recently, and the first time she shot since a teenager ... It seems that target is now a family heirloom. :)

Excellent - sounds like Caprica's a keeper! I can't even picture my wife cleaning a gun - though she does enjoy shooting occasionally. As for owning one...she just refers to my SIG as "hers".

Bonnie and I were a couple for more than 11 years and I watched her growth using firearms with wonder!

I bought her a "Chipmunk" rifle and she did very well with it at 50 yards. She outgrew that very quickly.

Found a Marlin .22 bolt action rifle, fixed it up for her and she really got good with that rifle.

When I took her to her first 200 yard match, she cried and threw up. She did very well at 200 with her .22 rifle and shot many 200 yard matches with the .22 rifle!

We got her Marlin 917V in .17HMR and after that there was no stopping her! The .22 was retired and away she went with the .17!

She became a High Master shooter at 200 yards with her little .17HMR. No one could beat her so they gave her her own class...."The butterfly class."

She became a Corrections Officer, served almost 8 years without a single demerit or write up.

Continuing with her 200 yard match shooting, she was unstoppable!

She competed at 600 yards in "F" class using a Remington 700 VLS in .223 with great success.

She began pistol shooting, I gave her a Glock 26 and she earned her CHL. She carries the G26 today.

She began to compete at 200 yards with an AR-15 and qualified with perfect scores at TDCJ on pistol, rifle and shotgun.

She retired 1 1/2 years ago from TDCJ.

This lady really grew from her experiences with firearms. We are still best friends and just yesterday, discussed our shooting schedule for this summer!

The entire saga started with that little Chipmunk rifle!
