It sounds like this can get expensive quick if sights have to get changed out.
Or you could buy a gun with threaded barrel and suppressor sights already.

I saw a S&W .22 cal “Victory” pistol that had a threaded barrel. Hmmm. Was considering buying it for steel challenge but then we found our mislaid Browning Buckmark and we just used that instead. But the threaded barrel did pique my interest.
Yep--you understand correctly.So. You kind of buy a suppressor for a specific caliber of firearm,
not for a specific make/ model of a particular firearm, right?
So I could buy a 9 mm suppressor, and that could theoretically fit all my 9mm firearms, just provided I obtain a threaded barrel for that firearm I want to attach it to? Do I seem to have it understood correctly? (I need a suppressor 101 class.)
It can . . . but so is boat ownership. It sounds like this can get expensive quick if sights have to get changed out.
Have you priced cans yet? Don’t forget Uncle Sam’s $200 admission price. It sounds like this can get expensive quick if sights have to get changed out.

No, I have not. Our money is probably put to better use elsewhere, sigh. I would like to dream that I will start my home ownership journey before I’m fifty, and spending money on stuff like that isn’t going to help matters any.Have you priced cans yet? Don’t forget Uncle Sam’s $200 admission price.
They’re are fun, but boy do they get pricey fast.
I do most of my shooting at an indoor range, so I rarely use my suppressors. If I shot outdoors more, I might use them more.
If you have other people shooting though, you still need to use hearing protection, so it's kind of wasted having them.
Just my opinion...
I do think a suppressor would be handy in a home defense situation. I would imagine that people who have to use their weapons inside to protect themselves suffer significant hearing damage.

I wish more people would shoot suppressed, especially indoors. I haven't quite eliminated that flinch when someone else shoots. Me, I'm good - others, I jump for about the first 10 minutes.
For handguns, you need a threaded barrel (cheap an easy to swap). It can with adapters. As long as the suppressor is made for a larger or equal caliber than the gun you’re using it on.Maybe I need one. Not sure what I would put it on, or how that all works. I’d have to get a threaded barrel, also, right?
Total silencer noob here.
Can the same silencer fit on different firearms?
