I was looking at available 5.56x45mm M855 ammo at Target sports USA. Saw an old offering for 1k rds. of Fiocchi M855 for $289.95, or 8% less for Ammo+ members. Made me shed a tear or three.

Those prices are probably just like my youth, gone forever.

And the days of buying bricks of 22LR for $20
I guess I am quite a bit older than you because I remember $10.00 bricks of Blazer 22 LR, and one time a guy selling them for $9.00 per brick at a a gun show in NY in the late 1990s and a couple to a few bucks less in the 1980s. Wish I had bought a few cases of bricks and still had them. They were quite a deal when you think of it but of course, I made less money then.
