I hope it passes and Abbott comes through!
I think I read somewhere last week, that if it passed and got to his desk, Abbott would sign it into law. I hope that's correct.

who is the RINO?Warm up the phone lines, boys...the Senate has to suspend the rules in order to consider any bill out of numerical order. Takes 18 votes to do it, and word is we have one RINO that's gonna vote against doing so - anything to stop it.
NM has open carry permit less carry.
As does Lousiana.NM has open carry permit less carry.
Wasn't that from last year or even older?

I have an interest in this bill and the age permitted. I have two sons still under 21. Would like them able to carry.
Did the version that passed the house end up with 18 with or 21 as the youngest age?

AN ACT

by state or federal law from possessing the firearm and to other
provisions related to the carrying, possessing, transporting, or
storing of a firearm or other weapon; creating criminal offenses.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. This Act shall be known as the Firearm Carry Act
of 2021.
very informative post there sirJust a guess, but I'm thinking yes they might be able to carry, just that federal law would kick in that they would still have to be 21 to buy a handgun, but if gifted one, then possibly yes they could carry.
That's purely a guess though. I'm not even sure if age has been addressed yet.
