Since we were screwing up the funny picture thread with our reminiscing about ancient computer code and such, I figured I start this here so we don't screw up the thread that is really for funny picture and such.

Any old computers, old programming languages, or old nerd shit can go here.

I remember gthe first computer I bought when I turned 18 was an Apple II with a 114k floppy drive(That's the size if I remember correctly). It came with Integer basic in ROM and I bought a floating point basic card as well. I paid around $1500 for that system in 1980, and had saved up for a LONG time to buy it.
Now that amount of power would cost less than $3

In the 70's Coleco Industries produce a computer that came in a big box along with a printer. It was called the Adam. Had a lot of problems.

My first home computer was a TI-99/4A. I use a cassette recorder to store my programs instead of manual entry every time.

My first job we made a closed-loop motor controller using a Motorola MC68HC05 controller. We used an Apple IIc and an emulator board to develop the code in assembly language using Magic Window word processor software.

Had one of those that I hooked to a solar water heater to calculate the savings (for the ex in-laws). That was 1983 I think.
