^this. On average, there's only 3 kinds of drivers out at 4:30 a.m. One drives a two-toned Ford, one drives a yellow Ford and the 3rd is drunk. (Ok, my out-of-date car references are from the year 2010).I..... I bet he figured I was a drunk driver, ....
Haahaahaa, must have been a thing, we did the same.On the last day of the semester, our driving instructor allowed us to run through the simulator a la Grand Theft Auto, i.e. we could do anything we want. This was long before such video games existed, and it was quite enjoyable!

Yeah, we had a 1963 Ford Galaxy. No simulator. Heck we barely had color TV.We didn't have simulators.
We played for keeps. None of the tomfoolery.
We had real road driving as well, but the simulators were fun too.We didn't have simulators.

Has anybody gotten a ticket for not stopping long enough at a stop sign?

If I remember rightly, Valley High School Las Vegas, Nevada. Circa 1973.What fancy ass schools did y'all goto that had simulators? Drivers ed was pretty unmemorable for me.
My simulator was stealing my parents car at night after they went to bed. Never got ticketed or in a wreck. Passed my test with flying colors. I had to push it down the road before starting it and coast in when returning. Didn't help that it was a giant station wagon with a 454 ci engine. You could actually see the fuel gauge drop as you drove. Good thing fuel was cheap then!
They haven't changed that much... I've had my "own" car since I was about 10 so I didn't have to "steal" one, but I definitely did the push it to the road before starting thing a few times.Jeez times must’ve been different then
When I was in college, my '56 Chevy's compression was so tired that I routinely parked uphill. Finally got tired of it & sold it for $35. Agghhh!...... but I definitely did the push it to the road before starting ......
