The Austin Liberty Coalition is planning on having a get together at Red's Indoor range south location this Friday from ~3-3:30pm to throw a monkey wrench in Governor Perry's plans. He is scheduled to be receiving an endorsement from the NRA at that time. While he has made some improvements in things, such as with the Castle Law, that is all misdirection and a facade which prevents many people from seeing the big picture of how he has sold out our state in a great many ways (toll roads for one). Anyways, this facade of an endorsement is little more than window dressing to help his re-election campaign. Haven't we had enough of two-faced politicians yet?

Lets show up to this thing and put a damper on his plans people! I have the day off and WILL be there, and I hope some of you will join me as well. Obviously, we need to remain civil, but our presence will be protest enough that can't really be ignored. Even if you only have an hour to spare, it's better than nothing, and we can use the support! I don't get it. I know Perry's done a couple of things I don't like but he's done a ton of things I do like. Just because of a couple of things doesn't mean that he hasn't been a good governor for us. Who's better? Medina? We don't even know how she'll handle the job. All I've heard from her are pretty words. Nothing on how she'll accomplish those things. Perry has the guts to tell the feds where to stick it. She has no experience dealing with the feds. They play dirty.

Say what yall want about perry or me but, hes MY Governor. kbh has too much washington and Medina I dont think could win against the democrats who are gunning for this office. The two things that I like about Perry very pro 2nd amendment and the fact he went on tv and told washington to butt out of our state. Everything else I dont really care about. I definaitely dont want my state run by a liberal or a democrat.

I too will support Rick Perry. He has done nothing but good for Texas Gun Laws, he immediately signed each and every gun friendly law.

He attends all the TSRA and NRA Banquets, he is front and center supporting our gun rights. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't have a CCW Permit.

He seems to have fought the Obammaites pretty well on their Stimulus crapola. He has said that if Cap and Tax is passed, it will cost us thousands of jobs.

I just don't get it. Why remove a known quantity for an unknown quantity?

Polysci 101: The primary duty of a Politician is to get elected, secondary duty is to get re-elected, then piss half of the people off all the time. What a system, but it seems to work out. Hill Country money trumps. RP is okay, KBH belongs in DC, and M, will every primary needs a wild card.

For me, I am a Johnson County boy, Hell we can buy beer at Albertsons.

If the gun issue is the only thing some of you can see, I would implore you to expand your horizons a bit as there is far more going on out there than you realize. Who had the cojones to go to an open carry BBQ by Rodbender? Debra Medina. Who has supported Texas state "manifest destiny" by theft of hundreds of thousands of privately owned acreage by foreign construction companies (toll roads, NAFTA highways, whatever you want to call it)? Rick Perry. We can go on and on. Choosing the lesser of two evils is still choosing evil. Do some of you even realize that the few 2A things Perry did were basically "table scraps" to get the hoards of mindless Republocrats completely on his side. I bet many of those supporting Perry also believe Bush was a "good" president. Look beneath the surface and you'll see differently.

Who is receiving an NRA endorsement tomorrow, while the ATF is shutting down gun shows in his own town and he's completely ignored the issue? Rick Perry. If you do a quick time line check about when Perry first started in with all the secession, anti-big government stuff it all sparked up within the last 6-8 months......just in time for 2010 Texas governor's election. That is no accident. The purpose of this thread is for activism. If you don't like it or support it, pass on through.

Actually, the purpose of this section is for activism re gun legislation; not to freeload campaign for a spoiler candidate with no chance in hell of making a showing.

    Your Shaking My Tree Now...

I bet many of those supporting Perry also believe Bush was a "good" president. Look beneath the surface and you'll see differently.

Yes, Bush was a DAMN good president. From the start of his term, with the crapola from Florida, he was late getting going, democrats fought him tooth and nail for every one of his appointments. It was March or April 2001 before he was functioning.

Then came 9/11, Bush was caught napping there because he was following the Clinton mantra on terrorism. After 9/11, where the economy took a $1 TRILLION hit, he got serious. Pushed for tax cuts where democrats fought him tooth and nail. By 2003, the economy was going again.

Democrats at first supported him 100% on Iraq. They ALL declared that Saddam should go. But soon they all got "selective memory recall", declaring they were against the Iraq War from the start.

By 2005, unemployment was 4.5%, the DOW at 14,000, gasoline $1.50, and cars were selling without buyers being bribed. But all this time, the liberal media was cutting his guts out. They wanted him to LOSE the Iraq War at all costs.

When Repugs were drummed out by the media in Nov 2006, democrats took over and what did they spend all their time doing? Vote after vote trying to make him LOSE the Iraq War. Gasoline shot up to $5 a gallon, the economy dropped like a rock, and did democrats try to drill more???????

And THAT is how we got to 2008, thanks to the left wing media, a democrat piece of cheese would have won the presidency. It's just about what we got.

Oh, Perry. He's done something right because I saw today that 250,000 from New Orleans are Texans and don't want to go back to Louisiana. Trouble is, most are probably democrats.

Just makes it a little tougher for us to keep the State Repug.

I am voting for Perry, and I resent the tactics used in this thread by Sig_Fiend. Not a smart way to attempt to gather support. In fact, because of the behavior of those like him, I will notw campaign for Perry even more.

    Is Rick Perry perfect? No.

But politics is a dirty game at times and sometimes we have to hold our collective noses while voting.

Take what just happened in Massachusetts. In that bastion of Ted Kennedy/Barney Frank Socialist Democrats, We( I say we because I did send him $25) managed to elect fiscally conservative, NRA A rated Scott Brown to the U.S. Senate. But if he were a Texan, He wouldn't get elected to any statewide office because he's pro-choice and supported Massachusetts' home grown version of universal healthcare.

When it comes to politics, you have to take what you can get. I just wonder how many people stayed home on election day November 2008 because they felt McCain wasn't conservative enough?

Hey TI what this tread is about is not trying to gain support to get someone other than Perry elected. Its to get him to do something about APD and ATF strong arming the gunshow.

ANY more off topic posts in this thread will be deleted. Thank you BT1911 for pointing out that the Activism forum was in the wrong section. I have now moved it to a bit more appropriate area. Freeload? In case you didn't know, I started this forum with Alan. This is also MY forum. I'm not just some random person that figured out the cheat codes to get a red user name. You may want to rethink your tone.

Uh, y'all realize regardless of what he said, Perry ended up taking the $$$$?

And sure, he's a passive gun right supporter, but he hasn't seemed to have been very proactive. I've been voting for him, but not this time.

And, you'd think he could debate better than that after all these campaigns.

It sounds like the whole Perry - Anti-Perry debate will turn into a pile of ugly dead horses like the Open Carry debate... Which somehow seems to always find another horse to beat down with a bludgeoning stick...
