Drake Tree & Fence just finished the removal and cleanup. Came at daylight. I watched, they knew what they were doing. Will use them for the big tree soon as possible. Ironic this happened just hours after he first came to give us a price to take it down. :D
    Glad it was not worse.

Repair may well be less than the deductible.

We are good here at the house but just got a text that we have a district meeting because reports are coming in that we have some damage on the district. I'll hear how bad in the morning at 7. Praying it isn't too bad.
    Was there much damage?
Lots of noise down in our thicket, haven't looked yet.

Haven't heard of much. Many went looking at roads which they found a couple washedcaway. Most of the wind damage seems to be more in tge Yellowpine area over by Toledo Bend. Overall though not bad.

Glad to see yalls wasn't too bad and no major damage.

Well, the repairs are done; just painting and gutter left to do. Not counting the help with the tree, it came in under $1800 so insurance not involved. We're scheduled for the 31st to get the big tree gone; fingers crossed no major storm before then.

All in all very pleased. It could have been so much worse. :)

They did. Luckily no structural damage. Plywood, shingles, soffits, hardiplank, 2-by & paint - over $800; lumber & material prices have doubled since last year. Gutter guy will be separate, unknown what that will be.

If I read the chart right....the highest wind gust was 41mph?

I grew up in Lubbock.... 41mph there is just... Tuesday.

Of course, there are no trees to blow down in Lubbock....

Glad you guys are all right, and that the damage appears to be minimal... good to hear...

Since this thread, there have been some pretty good storms come through the metroplex... 70mph winds with large hail.... we've been lucky so far, with no damage to our house, etc...

good grief, that was a large tree.... I can imagine that thing blowing over.... they showed pics of some area that had winds the other day, and a large tree fell right across a house, basically cutting it in half.... Luckily, I think no one was hurt.
Yours looks kind of like an oak of some sort... hard to tell...

So y'all have plenty of firewood for next winter?
