I’m reading a lot of false hope In this thread. We gotta stop fooling ourselves. Very few politicians care what happens to us. Even if I’m wrong and joe is all bark and no bite he’s still surrounded by new age democrats that are very radical. I don’t think I’m wrong. Joe will sign almost anything put in front of him. It’s not like he’s a good man people. Stop thinking we can make deals with rattle snakes.

The democrats are going to make a push like no other with media in our destruction. Just skimming google news this has been the most troubling bunch of shit I have ever read in my life in terms of attacks on conservatives and double standards. We are living in a Nazi Germany.

As for guns we will see a awb with no sunset. We will see more voter fraud. We will possibly see another new state added. It’s going to be death by a thousand cuts and they will rig a system we can’t get out of honestly. We are playing a game against cheaters. How do you think this will play out? I have said this for a long time: California was the experiment. Now our entire nation will go Cali 2.0

It’s time we stop fooling ourselves. They will never stop. We will only have ourselves to blame if we don’t come together and tell them their laws are not valid. We need police, judges, communities to come together and refuse to condemn our country.

    I’m good...I said what I needed.

If this conversation is only about what they are going to do about guns I apologize for showing you this unbelievable.

    That's nuts...

For the second item, I doubt that would go as he imagines it would.

With United, they've exposed a massive weakness and opportunity to **** them hard. Specifically:

If all it takes is a bit of patriotic banter to get them to deplane/abort entire flights, well, how much money does that cost them? How many aborted flights does it take to sink them into bankrupcy?

Wouldn't it just be 'crazy' if by some weird twist, this went viral (e.g. weaponized) so that every single flight had at least a handful of patriots who could engage in civilized patriotic discourse? (just to help pass the time, of course...)

    Just a thought....

Manchin will be the key to what happens. He's stated 3 things as of yet:

    1) He will vote no to ending the filibuster.
    2) He will vote no to packing the SCOTUS.
    3) He will not support taking away peoples guns, but he would support some limitations.

If he sticks to his word on just the first two, things will get bad, but not irreparable.
If he fails to keep his word, which is possible if not likely, it's the end of this country as we know it, and not just regarding the second amendment.

A whole new wave of progressive policies will fall into place. Segregation will be reimplemented. Racism will be employed to end racism. Taxation will be employed to reduce poverty. The Bill of Rights will be dismantled in the name of safety. And the masses will kneel at the feet of their oppressors. A small percentage will fight to retain their freedom, and a new Civil War will begin, whether it lasts 72 hours or 72 months.

    Now I need a whiskey.

    .....snip for brevity......

    I’m good...I said what I needed.

To hope is to wish for something better and earnestly believe it can happen. False hope would then be to not sincerely wish for something better to happen. That's not what I'm about.... I have a hope that good and just can prevail. It's not a false hope, that's for sure.

I know the reality of the situation, but I won't give in to it as a foregone conclusion. I won't concede the dems or fascists or communists are absolutely going to succeed in enslaving us to their horrors. It MAY happen, but I don't believe it's written in stone.

There is my "hope"; not false. Tempered with reality; it has to be. But I won't surrender my wish; for things to be better and for our liberties to endure. Sometimes our hope is all we have; dark times, but to endure.

My hope also is that the Democrats remain true to themselves; self-serving, greedy, and corrupt. Beating them is not the goal; allowing them to beat themselves is.

This is where I think the grand compromise could be made. D’s get UBC and serialized/FFL transfer of 80% recievers/frames in return for GCA, FOPA, NFA going away and subject instead to the UBC at point of purchase. Probably won’t be able to get away from registry of current NFA items, but speed the goddämn process up if you, in the words of Clayton Williams, want me to lean back and enjoy getting raped.
You must have read Hoji's post about being an optimist.

Police, prosecutors and judges will blow with the wind, so if the People don't make themselves heard loud and clear, there's no reason to expect the former to do the right thing.

No, it actually stemmed from a conversation with Ben at one point. Fighting for not one more inch does nothing to create a net gain. UBCs aren’t going to realistically stop private transfers that need to be stopped...transfers to prohibited persons, for example. Serializing an 80% receiver won’t stop 3D printed polymer lowers...the magic smoke is out of the box, it ain’t going back in.

But if you want a net gain, you’ve got to be willing to accept something to get what you want in return, otherwise we have statis quo Mexican standoffs forever that eventual result in more inches given, specifically because precedent, going back to the before the birth of this nation, states .gov reserves the power to regulate RKBA, just like peaceable assembly and freedom of speech.

    I get you point.

The only thing I have against a background check is the fee. I'm actually used to them being a CA transplant.
And I've never seen the point in milling an 80 that cost more than an already completed lower. Not going to loose sleep over that one either. Hell I'd probably make some $ milling serials with my cnc router.

I was more referring to you optimism of the GCA of NFA ever going away. I take that as seriously as people huffing and puffing that the ATF should be a convenience store instead of a gov agency. Wishful thinking but never going to happen.

That only works when you are dealing with reasonable people.

Conservatives think their ideas are better, and if heard the Dems would join them. Reality is Libs want them dead, and a large portion of the public just wants free $hit. Not a lot of room for negotiation there.

They are going to try to abolish the electoral college this will be a total game changer if they can pull it off. We are not working with reasonable people only people that will do anything to win. I realize that it will take a 2/3rds vote to change, but they have the machines that can be programmed and the poll workers that will insure their victory.

This is why we wish you folks like you had stayed in California
    Lol.

    I get you point too.

I probably wasn't clear enough. I fully understand there is no reasoning or compromising with the left. They aren't playing the same game. I believe every law of decree is an infringement of my 2a right. I was just stating that those would be the easiest to swallow because I've lived under that crap.

And correct me if I'm wrong but this thread is about just how much we are going to be swallowing right?

Cheaper, easier, faster to just give illegals right to vote.
