Sadly, some demented career thug took hostages while being pursued by a local small town Marshall.

The small town of Jeanerette LA had an agreement with LPD to furnish SWAT services they lacked.

During the ensuing ‘’stand-off’’, Officer Jolivette was shot & killed. Three other SWAT team officers were also shot, but with nonfatal injuries.

The 2 young. hostages were safely freed & the killer was arrested.

Our Son, the Detective & regional ATF Liaison Officer, was on vacation in another state at the time. He was a personal Friend of Officer Jolivette.

    Spring, Texas - Retired
    RIP sir.
Prayers of comfort offered up for his family during this hard time.

I might be mistaken, but this reads / sounds like this might be another case of a Thug that ought to have been in Prison for prior crimes/felonies - being released and then doing harm.
