When pickup gun racks disappeared.

Welllllll,,,we all know those guys are experts on guns and gun laws!
(sarcasm!)
"Any person carrying on or about his person, saddle, or in his saddle-bags, any pistol, dirk, dagger, slung-shot, sword-cane, spear, brass-knuckles, bowie-knife, or any other kind of knife manufactured or sold for the purpose of offense or defense,"
"shall be guilty of a misdemeanor"
" shall forfeit to the county the weapon or weapons so found on or about his person "
Never changed until 1995 or so and your horse is like your auto. Cost to go to court to reclaim your weapons - $$.
When I was in Corpus after Carla, LE would put all confiscated weapons on a barge and shove them overboard into the gulf.
Indiana was first state to issue LTC, illegal prior.
joke all you want, twas the way it was.

Auto wasn't your home?
Enforced 1871 law?
Range at Preston & belt line had problem with LE. Maybe settled in court case? Vaguely remember news coverage in mid 70s. Hand gun in auto was 'illlegal' unless 'in ' trunk.

Nope. That would be New Hampshire.Indiana was first state to issue LTC, illegal prior.
Where does it say that in the Texas Motorist Protection Act?To the original OP, IMHO, If it is unloaded and NOT accessible to auto occupants, no problem. Trigger lock if kids with you.
Correct, my error.
Interesting, this thread shows the majority of gun owners do not know gun laws. Or care!
