Boudin and deer sausage on top of spicy tomato rice with grilled asparagus.

The oldest meat and produce in the fridge.

Pretty much business as usual here. Actually found a package of hamburger meat at HEB, and it isn't brown in the middle like it usually is. We'll get 3 meals out of that package. Finding frozen chicken at Randall's that was packed same day. I'm thinking we will have spaghetti and meat sauce tonight. We have eggs for omelets, and tortillas for burritos. Sausage links, Elgin style from HEB. What we don't have is bread for all the lunch meat my wife scored, or milk for the cereal.

Got a call from a buddy. He said I heard wrong about Frisco restaurants closing. Last night was the last night. He invited, we went. Closed the office early and took my office manager to Dee Lincoln’s Steakhouse at the Star in Frisco.

The place was packed. Top 3 as far as steaks I’ve ever had. Best creamed spinach I’ve had. Lobster Mac n cheese. It was fantastic. Highly recommended when they get open again.

Trying to keep from throwing anything out. Had what Mrs Whistler calls "trash burritos". Pretty much whatever leftovers I can wrap up in a tortilla with hot sauce.

Ha! My daughter says we are having roast tacos tonight.

I have about a cord of pecan, hickory and post oak for my smoker and grill.

Not for sure about others, but I use both year round.

My next project planned is to build a gas fired flat top griddle.

Have wanted to make one for a long time. Please post finished product when done :)

    Out here by the lake!

Brown in the middle ground beef is packed to tightly. Generally if it's loose air will get to it & it will bloom out. I use to love the idiots that claimed we added red food color it the grinds.
