There may have been other armed 17 year olds at the riot KR was in. We don't know. There were certainly armed rioters. For @Sasquatch, police don't have an obligation to protect us so we are on our own. As you all know, 17 year olds can enlist in the service with parental consent. I was on my own at 17. KR seems like a very well balanced young man.

Yes, SCOTUS ruled the police have no duty to protect the *individual* - they have a duty to maintain the peace and protect the public as a whole though. They have failed rather miserably in every one of the cities where these riots take place, especially when leftist mayors or chiefs give stand-down orders.

What is the point of stand down orders? They might as well just go home.

Ask the lefty mayor of Kenosha, or Portland, or San Francisco, or Los Angeles, or anywhere else this shit goes unchecked. They hate the cops, they don't want the cops interferring with the people the mayor is ideologically in league with. So the cops show up, they look all mean in their tac gear, but they can't do shit unless someone is shooting at them, or killing someone in front of them, but then again, the cops weren't THAT far away when the mob was trying to kill Kyle Rittenhouse, and he had to run to them, so...eh?

Or in Minneapolis when the police were told to abandon the police headquarters last year during the riots. https://www.twincities.com/2020/05/...-as-george-floyd-protesters-pull-down-fences/

17 yo have there whole life ahead of them, possibly dying to protect a car dealer insured inventory is not the hill to die on.

There is plenty of "right" he could have done without this unforced error. But that is boring and does not involve being cool toting an AR-15 around.
I understand where you are coming from, but I think it lost sight of WHY Kyle and other felt the need to do what they were doing.

Kyle's actions all that evening were fully within the law.

The hill which people chose to fight and die on was when they chose to attack a law abiding citizen exercising his 2a right.

    Watching Tucker

KR had a malf just before he had to shoot lefty and was able to clear it by pushing FA and closing bolt. Seemed to imply Lefty saw him manipulate gun and might have thought he was empty and then charged him. Surprise!
Someone paid close attention during training; likely practiced, too.
