An 17 yo running around another town with a gun during a riot is a horrible choice. His parents should win worst parent of the century, allowing that to happen and putting him at so much risk.

He is very lucky to be alive and not in jail. This could have turned out so much worse.
    I strongly disagree.

Men like Kyle need to keep taking risks for what is right.

donations? or his family doing OK.

    Donations.

His father is/was a machinist, supporting Kyle's grandmother and other family members in his house in Kenosha, basically Kyle's second home in addition to his mother's place in Antioch, IL. Kyle would stay at his father's place at times, since he had a job as a lifeguard in Kenosha.

Kyle's mom is a part-time nursing assistant. I read they (mom, Kyle, sisters) lived a homeless lifestyle for awhile when his parents divorced. I also read that Kyle often worked as a teen to help put food on the table. Everything indicates that Kyle was a hard-working kid willing to do anything to help out.

17 yo have there whole life ahead of them, possibly dying to protect a car dealer insured inventory is not the hill to die on.

There is plenty of "right" he could have done without this unforced error. But that is boring and does not involve being cool toting an AR-15 around.

Bail was set ... suing ...
AFAICT the financial side of the case is a mess right now. There's been some good basic analysis by Robert Barnes but since he was once involved he's not privy to all the details. (And since so many folks are speculating about who KR should sue, I'd like to nominate the folks who allowed then shut down his single official funding site. Was it GoFundMe? I don't remember.)

I think everyone is assuming that KR is going to be so rich that everyone will eventually get paid. I just hope no one gets impatient and starts giving the young man grief. He sure doesn't need it right now.

Styx goes into the GoFundME thing a little at the beginning of this video. I also included his archive link of the GFM page lauding Skateboard dude, and posts complaining about the treatment of Rittenhouse.
