A man in a peaceful pro Israel demonstration is attacked and tackled by a Hamas terrorist supporter. While grappling on the ground, the pro Israel demonstrator that was attacked was able to get to his gun and protect himself by shooting the attacker. He is then charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, as well as violation of a constitutional right causing injury. It looks to me to be a clear act of self defense. No information as to if the attacker was charged with assault but I am guessing not, as it was not mentioned in the article. A video of the incident is in the article.

From the Washington Gun Law channel is discussion why one is in jail for defending themselves.

To me this is a vivid example why one needs self-defensive insurance or a lawyer on retainer. The channel outlines several scenarios that might play out all costing a bundle in pre-trial investigation, interviews, grand jury or even a trial. This could easily take months to sort itself out. Even if not eventually charged/prosecuted the defensive situation is costly for this individual.

It's simple..........don't participate in these protests.
    Its simple, don't defend yourself...

Its simple, dont have a gun...

Its simple, don't speak against terrorists...

Its simple, wear a longer skirt...

    Its simple, wear jeans...

    Its simple, blame the victim...

Throwing away your life for a foreign country.. these two assholes are made for each other
So, do we no longer stand up for what we believe is right so nobody gets their feelings hurt?
It's simple..........don't participate in these protests.
Yeah, who needs freedom of speech anyway....it's so last century.
I didn't say anything about giving up rights.........just dont participate in lefty protests as a counter-protester.......like stay away.
Well, it really wasn't a lefty protest. Just people standing up for what they consider the right thing.
So what do we do? Let the terrorists bully us into hiding and not speaking?

Doesn't matter which side you are on, if you do that,,,,they win.
    YOU LOSE.

If what you feel is right is dying for someone elses country then go for it
Not about dying for someone else's country. It's about ours.
The far left and far right have always somewhat tried to bully everyone into thinking like them. But for the last 10-15 years, the far left has been more and more openly violent in their bullying while calling it free speech.

Personally, I don't like bullies. Of any persuasion. And I won't be bullied. Not by the school bully that wants my lunch. Or the progressive that wants me silent so they can pretend they are right.

Your choices are up to you. But don't be surprised when that bully comes back and wants more control of your life.

You are taking it as I am supporting the guy who got shot which I am not. I think in Texas the shooter would have been no-billed and justifiably so. You shouldn’t be able to spear someone on to the ground just because they like a different sports team or in this case a different set of bloodthirsty homicidal maniacs and not expect to get a lethal dose of lead.

I am once again stating that supporting someone elses country to the point of going to prison for life is a stupid choice. Why even put yourself in that position? If I cared so much for either side I would renounce my citizenship and go over there to join the fight.

Ah, so rather than giving rights up, just don't dare exercise them or stand up to terrorist supporters. Gothca.
When the George Floyd "protests" happened in Austin, I did not go to look see or participate because it was a shitshow. Likewise with any pro Palestinian protests on the University of Texas campus........I'm not going down there to counter protest or even observe because it's not worth my time or trouble. I also did not drive cross country to the Capitol.

I will choose not to put myself in those situations.........you do you though.

To those of you who think I am advocating silence or giving up rights......I am not. I exercise my rights at the ballot box and other ways. Protests and demonstrations are just not my thing and I won't insert myself into them. You guys go ahead.

The Daniel Perry thing here in Austin is an example of how that crap can go and Perry was just driving through.

More power to the guy in Mass. but he did shoot someone and whether right or wrong he has to go through the trouble of defending himself now. I would not have been there at all, myself, is all I am saying.

He did not choose to put himself in a position to defend himself, someone else did. He just stood up IN PUBLIC for what he thought was right. Something he has a right to do,. Both sides do. PEACEABLY. Not by use of force.

So,,,only do the right thing or stand up for your rights when you can do it in secret so nobody knows?
Don't do anything someone may take offense at?
Don't go anywhere there may be a confrontation at? Or an imprompto demonstration? So your saying stay home and do nothing?
    Congrats, the bully wins.
