Same, served in peacetime. Even being told by people I signed the same blank check as those in combat, still feels weird being thanked.I get uncomfortable being thanked for my service on memorial day. I know a hand full of guys who gave everything. I have grandfathers who died in wars.
I, on the other hand have only reaped the benefits of being a veteran.
That being said
I wouldn't mind a smoking sale on certain items I've been looking for.
On second thought, im triggered, and deserve a gift card in the mail.

Fair enough.There is never a bad time to thank a Vet for their service. Not even memorial day.
