    Whenever the Left starts talking about civic responsibility (or anything else normal folks are concerned about) I get an itch on the back of my neck and have to wonder what is their angle.


    Consider the stranglehold the leftists have on education. If they were teaching a modern civics class, they'd be teaching that the Constitution somehow grants rights to the people while placing restrictions upon the exercise of those rights, makes them subservient to the government, and often stands as an impediment to the government's preferred role of providing for the people and guiding every aspect of their lives. They would also teach that the "collective good" is more important than individual liberty, and that individual success can only be achieved by depriving others of the means to survive - a condition that only benevolent government can fix through enlightened, socialist policies.

    So yes, they'd love to require a civics test...based on the civics curriculum they'd devise.
