13 year old beagle mix, Inu.
Brave little dude. Wife heard him yelp and saw him jump. She went over and heard the buzzing.
She took him to ER vet and they started antivenin treatment.
Little dude had a seizure ( he has always had them) but is stable as of this morning.
Little dude could use some good thoughts and prayers.
Pic from a couple of months ago.

It does. He made it through the night. Everything I have heard and read says that is the roughest part.

Praying hard for the old little dude to make a full recovery.

    Yep.
We had 4 dogs bitten in the backyard when I was growing up.
    They all pulled through.

Poor dog. That had to suck a lot.
Indeed. But it was a learning experience, too. Went to YouTube and saw that you CAN pull them out. I had always thought that they had vicious hooks that wouldn't let them back out without massive tissue damage. The hooks are there, but pretty tiny. A good tug with pliers and they pop out. Not fun for the pup, for sure. But she was a trooper and they're all out. A couple we missed in her jaw came out POINT FIRST through the bottom of her jaw. Ouch. She is all good now. We hope that she won't mess with a porcupine again, but she tends to be a slow learner...

This is how I got rid of a copperhead problem in my backyard. She was living under the patio slab. The ‘Great Stuff’ foam is incredibly sticky when it’s wet, so anything coming into contact with it is doomed. Of course, it hardens up pretty quickly so you want to make sure your first shot is a well positioned and prolong shot to fill the cavity. It also expands greatly and fairly rapidly. I used a board with a cut out in it to protect my hand as I sprayed (just in case).
