Stupid hurricane and its rain have brought out the skeeters like a sunnybeach. Ooof. Damn bugs so thick outside they get in your mouth and nostrils.
Went out to the range yesterday and the skeeters were so bad I got back in the car and left. No thanks.
Stupid mosquitoes.

And there's one species--well, actually, there are 176 species of them in the U.S. alone--that has a real gender equality problem. There aren't 72 genders as now claimed for humans but the male mosquito stays very close to where he's born, lives only about a week (10 days for a male mosquito is like 95 years for us), and doesn't suck blood; he lives mainly on plant nectar.

The female, though, typically ranges from 1 to 10 miles (some species can travel up to 40 miles), usually lives for around 6 weeks but can last up to 5 months with few predators and plenty of food, and they're the blood sucking vampires who will sense @Moonpie from far away and home in on him like an AIM-9X Sidewinder.

I have a rat terrorist / beagle mix. Enough terriers for me! We will be getting a new one when my daughter is ready. But that will be a while.

I can't share details yet, but we need a judge with wisdom and eyes wide open today.

Update: it is still premature to list details here, but will just say we get to see our two year old granddaughter tomorrow after she had been gone for two months now. Previously we were with her daily almost every day (and night). We were blessed with an experienced judge (and grandpa!) wise to what was up. We didn't get all we asked for, but it's headed in the right direction. #Blessed
