Your profile says "Briar". I used to frequent that area years ago. I grew up in Wise County, and since it was a dry county we alternated going to Briar and Jeterville.
It used to be a wide spot in the road with a church, a convenience/beer store, and the scrap yard/recycling center across the road. Of course, that was back in the 80's.I’ve been here 16 years. It is seeing growth that I hadn’t expected to see so soon. May need to move further out into the country.

Did anyone else watch Garth receive the the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song tonight? Kind of funny watching the hoity toity types honor a 'neck. If you hit the link, you'll see how pathetic Pelosi and other politicians are at keeping a beat. Garth mentions his daughters multiple times but the one seated to the left seems quite distant.
It was a good show, available at below link thru 4/26.

It sure as heck rains a lot here. I guess that's not a bad thing since it makes the grass and trees and such grow and keeps the pollen down at the same time but maybe 3 or 4 sunny and not very humid days in a row would be nice.
Not me, no yard since I am in an apartment. Heck, I lived in Calexico for 4 years - on the line in the Border Patrol - I know how brutal summers can get. I am certainly not looking forward to walking the pooch at 0700 and it being 80 or 85 degrees with high humidity or even with low humidity.Rainy season, few months from now you'll be begging for rain as your yard slowly burns to a crisp.
