    She sat for years in the mothball fleet at Bremerton, Washington. It was the first ship I saw driving into work at PSNS for most of the 90's.
    Dad and I were on a road trip in that area back in the late '70s. Stopped by to see what little could be seen on the Missouri, never paying attention to what was parked on the other side of the pier. A few years later I'm watching an Officer and a Gentleman, in the opening credits you see both hull numbers, BB63 and BB62. According to their YouTube videos (Battleship New Jersey), they've got a lot of the ship available and open to the self guided tours.

    Power is scheduled to be off for a couple hours tomorrow starting at 0930. So I'm gonna pre cool the house tonight. Fridge and freezers should be OK for 2 hours.

    I keep several not full water bottles in my freezer, so I can keep fridge and refrigerator cool during power outages.
