Sweet! Sitting that long it will need some TLC. Enjoy

The price reflects the need for a tune, fluids, brakes and tires.

He said it starts and drives, so the fuel system seems OK.
I'm sure a battery will be needed as well.

He said his neighbor bought it new.
A couple years later, he bought a Gold Wing and talked him into the VTX.
The new owner hadn't ridden in 30 years.
Says it was too much for him.
    Helluva "re-starter" bike.

Nice bike. It's the 1800 cc big brother of my 1100 cc Honda Sabre engine. They ride well.

    Carbs will need balanced.

Also those 1800cc bikes had a bad grounding issue IIRC where the factory tried to ground the electric they messed up most of the time. Double check the ground points that they don't have paint\rust on it.

There are forums specifically about just about all models of motorcycles I recommend you read over some of them for common issues.

    Thanks for the HU ...

1800s are FI which was high on my list.
I've jacked with too many in-line 4 in my lifetime.

According to multiple sites, the grounding issue was a result of a brass bolt, through a copper ring connector attached to a steel frame covered in paint.
Had a real science experiment going on ... tech bulletins addressing start, idle, fuel pressure, fuel mileage, blown lamps all link back to this one ground under the tank.

Similar problems with the coil bracket.
Supposedly limited to 02-03 models, but recommended to put eyes on and check for every X.

Back in the day, Continental was the go-to tire. Now it appears Michelin and Dunlop are the elite tires.
I would appreciate any first person experiences.

Just unloaded and trying to get insurance to get an inspection to get a registration ... arfh!

She needs TLC and some maintenance, along with a new set of shoes.

Michelin Commanders are fairly new, seem to be real good, Dunlop has some good tires. Also look at Metzler ME888's also. Not sure about any Connies though.
