Not sure what part of Houston you are from but the Arms room in clear lake or their abouts will rent all the guns it has for one fee. I think that might give you a start on what you are looking for .
Yeah, I tend not to drive towards war zones.Of course the same could be said for 17 rounds of .22lr.
Another vote for p365Consider the Sig Sauer P365. Smaller than a Shield but has 10+1, 12+1 or 15+1 capacity. And there's now a model with a manual safety.
I don't have one, but a friend does. Haven't shot it, but it feels really good in the hand. When you hold the gun and feel how compact it is, it doesn't seem possible it could carry that much ammo.
Personally, I'd rather have a 9mm with 10+1 or 12+1 capacity than .45 with 5 or 6 rounds. But that's just personal preference. YMMV.

Just using school, church as an example.
A war zone can erupt anywhere you might happen to be at any time.
Why we need constitutional carry.Just using school, church as an example.

Not that I'm against it, but constitutional carry doesn't nullify "gun free zones".Why we need constitutional carry.
You’re right. That’s another battle. Not that I'm against it, but constitutional carry doesn't nullify "gun free zones".
