Suited up with a mask and gloves like the Lone Ranger and did a pickup of 6 more pounds of bacon from Sam’s this morning, while they had it ... to hell with hoarding toilet paper.

This’ll last til breakfast Monday ... maybe.

What brand/type at Sam's? Looks like I need to get out of the house.

I know everyone has their preference & taste but if you haven’t tried Brookshire’s thick cut bacon you might want to give it a try. It’s our preferred choice in the 3 lbs package. Price is good and when on sale I will buy several packs and freeze some. On a flat sheet/pan cooked in the oven. Breakfast sandwich just this morning was off the chain.

Wife buys it when it's on sale. We agree, it's pretty good bacon.

There is a very good chance the Brookshires bacon is made by Wright. Before Randall's sold out Wright made Randall's bacon. On the package is a small circle with EST #.

Brookshires thick sliced beats Wright hands down. Was on sale last week for 9.99/3 lbs. I catch it on sale and stock up. Usually have 6-9 lbs plus what we are eating on.

I didn't make it out tonight, but will look for both tomorrow and give them a try. Was used to getting my bacon at a little mini-mart about 30 miles from home. Not sure who made it though. I will have to send a buddy in and have him ask.
I started cooking mine in the oven a while back and it seems to do good. No grease on stove top and back splash. I want a griddle for outside so I can go full on with eggs, bacon, burgers, whatever.

Only thing better for frying bacon is deep frying it. The problem with a griddle is the sugars & cure stick to the griddle then your eggs will too.

I was thinking something like a teppanyaki type grill. They look like they should clean up good. I could always "push" some bacon grease over to a new spot on the grill :)

It is good ... would like to be closer to a Brookshire's store.
And, their store in Navasota also used to have the best fried chicken on Sundays money could buy.
Don't know if that is still true, but I'd routinely drive two hours round trip to get it.

Right now, as far a bacon goes, I won't live without it so I'm going with whatever I can get my hands on until this goofy crap stops.

These damn Arkie's hoard like crazy, then complain about losing it all when the power their grid fails with regularity.
