Romney, backed by a republican house, and perhaps a republican senate (crossed fingers), could not possibly be worse than Obama on guns. Not to mention the other issues that point to Obama as a tyrant. The ancient Romans had a word for what Obama does when he acts outside the law, and that word is tyranny. There are a lot of examples of Obama's tyranny. I don't for a minute think Romney would be acting like Obama.

Mitt Romney is a liberal in conservative clothing. And no he's not pro gun, I wouldn't say he's anti gun either. I will say this though, I don't think he takes much of a stance on the issue at all, and that he could and would be VERY easily swayed by the one with the most money and the most clout. The RINO of all RINO's in my opinion. I'm voting for him for one reason and one reason only, and that is because I agree with him on some of the most basic fundamental principles in this country, like gay marriage being an oxymoron, and the fact that I don't consider him Anti American like I do Obama. I see Obama as an enemy combattant who has made his way into the Oval Office by capitalizing on a lack of morale and self respect of our nation by it's citizenry as a whole.

I've been saying that this entire time. I was really hoping Ron Paul would get the nomination. And he'd still be my pick for president hands down. That guy is the only candidate who had a hint of respect for America and its values. And he has made it very clear he will in no way support or endorse Mitt Romney. That says alot to me. I'm voting Romney to get Obama out. Then immediately after getting Obama out we can hopefully get a 4 year "extension" on the United States of America as we know it. We will have until the year 2016 to nominate a candidate who will do what we elect them to do, or we can kiss our freedom, liberty and rights that were fought so hard for, the **** goodbye.

Conservatives better damn well get behind Romney (including the Ron Paul groupies) if they want to have any chance of sending Obama packing. There are plenty of lefties plus those who are getting handouts that will be voting Obama come November.

I'll hold my nose and vote Romney.

We now have republicans turning on the 2nd Amendment. It's getting closer and closer to the reality that the NRA and other groups like them are literally the only ones who are still fighting to defend it. Just in this last week after the theater shooting, some of the most staunch conservatives have broken protocol and have expressed their tolerance to "moderate" gun control measures. Of course if they bow to that now, in 5 years, the word "moderate" will mean something different. Then they'll go for "moderate" gun control measures then. This will be a continuing cycle until they've pretty much nullified the 2nd Amendment and it is not even something we can cite to defend our right to keep and bear arms, in political conversation anymore. I'd say the days of gun rights freedom as we know it will be coming to an end, and I'd say for anyone who wants to be prepared when a civil war breaks out in this country (because make no mistake about it, once they take away our gun rights, the rest of the rights are sure to follow, until finally one day everyone's had enough then we have a rebellion much like the American revolution, if that is even possible after the Europication of America is in full swing.), to do what they need to do NOW to be sure that when that day comes, they are able to lend a hand (or an "arm") to the cause of liberty.

If we're ever fully "Europ-ified" I'm not worried. The authorities barely carry guns over there. Pretty sure the guys on this forum could take Normandy now that the rainbow unicorn socialists are in power in France

For those of you here who aren't ready I can train you. I'm the ... founder of the Rex Kwan Do self-defense system! After one week with me in my dojo, you'll be prepared to defend yourself with the STRENGTH of a grizzly, the reflexes of a PUMA, and the wisdom of a man.

Discussion of politics or religion will get a lot of folk's dander up and lead to hard feelings and often harder words. But the current condition of our Nation and it's fate should Romney fail to be elected is worth discussion. AND.....Mine and your NRA will take anti-gun loonies in office or running for office, to the woodshed for a butt thrashing ! That is the reason Firearms ownership discussion for they running is avoided by many but the leftist, progressives who are presently in power. They fear not a lone person with a firearm that might would or kill them, they fear an aroused Nation of gun owners whom would not tolerate a totalitarian dictator type Government ! That is why the progressive fear gun ownership.

    From Gun Owners of America:

    Romney get your gun…

…or in this case your hunting, skinning, butchering (in a good way), polish sausage making, Second Amendment defending running mate, Paul Ryan.

With the announcement of Paul Ryan as Romney’s running mate I decided to take a day or two and let the hullabaloo quiet a bit before I weighed in with any commentary. Now that I, and the nation, have had a couple of days to digest the news I figured I would delve into Ryan’s street cred in regards to the Second Amendment.

First and foremost, Rep. Ryan’s rating from GOA is an A. Simply put, he is a strong pro-gun voter and philosophically sound. But lets get into the meat and potatoes of what that means.

Rep. Ryan voted for the prohibition of lawsuits against gun manufacturers for misuse of their weapons. How anyone could have voted otherwise is beyond me. It would be like suing Toyota because someone driving a Prius hit me while drunk after too many apple-tinis. The only people who supported the right to sue the manufacturers were those gun control zealots looking to bankrupt and ultimately eliminate gun manufacturers in the US.

Rep. Ryan voted down similar measures in 2003 and 2005

In 2007 he voted to ban gun registration and the trigger lock law in Washington DC. Considering the absolutely flawed logic that gun registration laws are anything other than the governments attempt to control the populace is ridiculous. Gun registration has never prevented a crime but it HAS led to confiscations. And i’m not using the same ole Hitler, Stalin, Amin talking points, I’m looking right at you New Orleans. Confiscations of law abiding citizens happened RIGHT here in America at a time when those people needed protection more than ever. Having Rep. Ryan as a stalwart against registration of firearms is a very good thing.

Rep. Ryan also co-sponsored the National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Act that would, much like a drivers license, allow law abiding citizens who are permitted to carry in one state to legally carry in all other 49 states. This is a great way to bypass tyrannical despots like Mayor Michael Bloomberg who all but outlawed the carrying of weapons by average people in NYC (also telling them what to eat, how big their portions should be and all the other un-American nanny state nonsense his highness likes to decree) Being a born New Yorker, lets just say I am not a fan. But being a Pennsylvanian I have my LTCF and its just silly that my drivers license can drive me across the country to California no problem but I need to check a law book with every state i enter to make sure I am legally allowed to have my .45 on my hip. This is a great piece of legislation that Rep. Ryan not only supports but took the leadership role in co-sponsoring.

A few more pro-gun votes that Rep. Ryan made regarded the allowing of civilians to reload spent military small arms ammunition. So much brass keeps the prices down. A vote against is really just a vote to keep the price high for law abiding reloaders. Rep. Ryan also looking out for the wallets of gun owners with his support of the Collectible Firearms Protection Act which would allow M-1 Garands and Carbines to be repatriated to the US from overseas without having to jump through hoops and pay through the nose with State Department approval.

All in all, I find Paul Ryan to be a phenomenal pick by Mitt Romney, who, if we are being honest with ourselves really needed one. If included in Romney’s think tank when President, I fully believe that Vice President Paul Ryan will definitely voice his Second Amendment beliefs and shift the conversation in a positive direction for us. A crucial point with regards to any Supreme Court nominations that may arise.

So, hopefully, Ryan will be a good influence on Romney, a.k.a. Obama-lite.

Do you remember back in in the 1980s Ronald Regan signed law that included the Hughes Amendment that banned production of new machine guns?

We don't consider Ronald Regan anti gun do we? But what was his voting history.

I could go on about the two Bushes. Father and son.

    And I quote:::

During Romney’s term he signed several pieces of firearms regulation. A look at that regulation does not reveal an anti-gun Romney.

Those bills are characterized as “net gains” for gun owners in a state where opinioned is weighed against them.

During his tenure, Gov. Romney was credited with several improvements to state laws, including protections for shooting clubs, restoration of the Inland Fish and Game Fund, and requirements that all new hunters pass a hunter safety course.

He is also credited with relaxing manufacturing testing for some models of pistols.

In 2004, Gov. Romney signed a firearms reform bill that made permanent the ban on assault weapons as well as clarified and insured other rights and responsibilities for gun owners. It was a hard-fought compromise between interest groups on both sides of the issue. The NRA Gun Owners’ Action League, law enforcement, and Massachusetts gun owners endorsed the bill.

When Obama was elected, I was more concerned about Second Amendment damage with Biden in second chair. For some reason, Biden has throttled back. His boss is just waiting to be re-elected for back door gun regulations. The Bill of Rights says we are entitled under our laws to own firearms. It doesn't say a damned thing about having ammunition or a place to shoot. Why mount a frontal attack when the flank is so vulnerable?

Knock Romney or Ryan but that is the choice. If you fail to vote for Romney, you get Obama. If you write in a candidate, you get Obama. If you vote a third party candidate, you get Obama. If you stay home, you get Obama. Sage says he's not voting for Romney but against Obama. Great! Just by God, VOTE .....................or you get Obama!

Our country is in the toilet, in debt up to its ears, China owns us on paper, a do nothing Congress pisses our nation away, we hand out billions of Dollars to our enemies, we have perpetual wars that trash our economy and destroy our most valuable resource, our best and brightest citizens. Our enemies pee in our faces while the POTUS works deals with our competitors, trades off our jobs, screws our middle class to death and steals any chance we might have to retire comfortably. Your children will grow up with a national debt that is so large, we really don't know how much we owe. If faith in the Dollar tumbles, we'll be wiping our butts with $100 Dollar bills and the money we have in savings will just about buy a loaf of bread.

Can you LOSE any more? Hand Obama 4 more years without the worry about being re-elected again and we'll look at today as being one of "The good old days!"

    Vote, damn it!
