This bill is similar to the health care law a disaster for all Americans who pay tax and like Obama care so many falsehoods about what will occur. Basically make 11+ million people legal add relatives we could be talking 20-30 million, Huge increase in money for entitlements. In the bill they "hope" to secure border but we all know that will not happen. The GOP hopes to gain a few votes from Hispanics and the Democrats hope to turn Texas blue which will happen in 10 years if this ridiculous bill passes.

I sincerely hope that everyone who is retarded enough to vote in favor of this God-forsaken thing is removed from office.
Some GOP members are on board, Rubio, McCain(who once said he learned his less about immigration)Graham, and a few others, the media has convinced them the Hispanic vote is there only option what they fail to understand is they(GOP) continue to bring forward poor candidates so conservative votes won't come out to vote.

We desperately need reforms here but the fact this president and this congress is the one coming up with the bill I dont think it's neccessary to read this bill.

Right now we are kicking out 4.0 GPA engineering students when they graduate, but handing out food stamps to fence jumpers. If that doesn't spell out how screwed we are in a concise way nothing will.

Step one of anything should be securing the border as much as possible.

Hispanic vote is ~75% democrat, if the Republicans think legalizing illegals is going to win them votes they are even more stupid than suspected.

Rubio's heart might be in the right place but he needs to start using his head really soon here, but I think it's safe to say he's rapidly proving himself to be an establishment hack.

McCain is such a flip flopping pile of crap he makes Romney look consistent.

Graham, lol, Graham... Yeah just a matter of time before he gets outted as a pole smoker or a large number of mistresses. Thats probably why he is always lining up with the Dems if he thinks he can get away with it. MSNBC probably has some video of him in the boys room. He just seems like he has a serious John Edwards complex going on.

Issue isn't the GOP candidates, its the GOP voters and the lack of participation and/or fracturing among conservatives in the primary. Huckabee is a little too religious for my tastes in a candidate but would've been a pretty good president. '08 was basically a lock for Obama for reasons that do not need to be expressed, but I believe McCain did a pathetic job. If wasn'y for the "omg he's a hero" voting block he would've lost even worse. 2012 the conservatives really dropped the ball hard moving from candidate to candidate like a roller coaster. It's like people don't realize no matter who they choose the media is going to tear them apart.

All good points but I don't really think there's any need for immigration reform. There are already so many laws and tenets on the books addressing immigration but NONE of them are being aggressively enforced, if they're enforced at all. My grandparents immigrated to this country from central Europe over 100 years ago and they were PROUD to go through the necessary steps, which haven't changed all that much over the years, to become naturalized American citizens. Basically, understand some American history, know the Constitution of the United States and be able to read and write simple English. That last part is probably what's got the bug up the ass of many, though. They don't want to assimilate into this country. They want to bring THEIR country HERE. How many states have their "official" documents in multiple languages? Why, if one of the requirements for U.S. citizenship is being able to read and write English?

100 years ago the necessary steps didn't end up in a ten plus year legal battle involving immigration lawyers. Buddy of mine has been in the US for over 10 years, gainfully employed the whole time, and STILL doesn't have his citizenship. Oh, and he's also a white British guy. We do need to fix the problems with putting up barriers to folks who genuinely want to be Americans. We need to plug the gaping hole that is all the social welfare programs, handouts to illegals, etc. Supporting someone who doesn't want to support themselves has never been a good idea.

That's the problem. They're not looking to fix THOSE problems. They're looking to try to "fix" the situation we have now with the millions of illegal aliens (or Undocumented Democrats, if you will) that are already here. Instead of enforcing current immigration laws, as administrations in the past also have NOT done, the legislators continue to propose amnesty programs for those already here illegally. But what happens instead? The libiturd groups yell and whine that the government is profiling all those poor people who just want to come here for their freedom, and that in turn, sets off the government libiturds into a "We need immigration reform (amnesty) for those already here" rant and rave session. Enforce those laws are already on the books and tell the libiturds to go piss up a rope and FOAD.

Agree, however we must have a set number allowed per year the idea this country can sustain unlimited numbers is simply wrong like any society if numbers increase too fast it will break. We import people and export jobs certainly Joe average will continue to lose in quality of life. As I posted before the 'Gang of Eight" immigration bill is one of the worse I've seen, had to be written by the same folks who did health care.

I have no problem with a path to legal RESIDENCY. This instant citizenship crap is complete bullshit. Just like Cash for Clunkers, ObamaCare, ObamaPhones, the UAW Bailout, Porkculous, and all the other bullshit handouts - the Dems are buying votes with tax money.

    Rubio 2016? Nope.

    Well, maybe as a Democrat.

All good points but I don't really think there's any need for immigration reform. There are already so many laws and tenets on the books addressing immigration but NONE of them are being aggressively enforced, if they're enforced at all. My grandparents immigrated to this count. from central Europe over 100 years ago and they were PROUD to go through the necessary steps, which haven't changed all that much over the years, to become naturalized American citizens. Basically, understand some American history, know the Constitution of the United States and be able to read and write simple English. I can't speak to all but my wife has a better understanding of american history than 90% of Americans. Most who truly want to be here and not just work to send money home do want to assimilate in my experience. Basic understanding of the constitution and such is a requirement for citizenship. The test encompasses that and its been shown most american adults can't pass that test sadly.

I personally know two people who came here for school, learned English earned real college degrees with good gpa and yet we refused to give them even permanent residency. They both now live in canada who will happily accept educated immigrants. A lot of the issues stem from it being so easy for hispanics to come here. The only decent way to stay in the us after college for most is a bs story and hope to get granted asylum. I think when you are trying to scrape up a year or more salary to move halfway across the world it weeds out the slackers and less dedicated. When all you do is a few hours through the desert then sign up for food stamps in a sanctuary city it doesn't give you the same kick in the ass to not mess up.

Assimilation happens over a long period of time though. Look at the large enclaves of irish immigrants formed at the turn of the century and even the many china towns that persist til today. Learning english however is a cornerstone of this country and bending backwards for certain groups is really growing tiresome. I'm a pretty open minded individual but that is where I begin to draw the line. If you are not willing to learn the language you will nnever be a productive citizen so here is your ticket home, good bye. Publishing documents in multiple languages serves only to enable this kind of bs.

Publishing documents in multiple languages serves only to enable this kind of bs.

Not to mention the costs incurred in printing all that. Case in point -- The Peoples' Socialist Яepublik of Kalifornia prints its DMV forms in 31 different languages and has the video presentation of those same documents in 11 different languages. Is there any wonder that state is in such financial disarray? I've lived in both Germany (1976 - 1978) and Kuwait (1998 - 1999) and in those countries, their official documents are printed in their language and only their language. If you don't speak it, you're shit out of luck getting anything done.

That's exactly why we need reform. The laws are too complicated as it is... The issue I have is that "immigration reform" doesn't really mean anything. If you were to ask congress what it meant, you're likely to get 400 different answers. I'm sure it means amnesty and open borders to the current administration :p
