@Byrd666 What you need is a bull barrel 1911. With the captive spring system, there are no flying pieces. Now you have me curious, so when I get back home, I’ll try to disassemble one using only one hand. I believe it can be done.
I'm back home now, but I haven't had a chance to try the one handed disassembly yet.So....Just out of curiosity, how many new cuss words have you come up with?
I'm back home now, but I haven't had a chance to try the one handed disassembly yet.
Mind you, even though I said the above and that is essentially why I bought a few of them, I likely would not choose to carry one for self-defense if there were other of what I believe are better options. I do carry a 45 but I much prefer a double action pistol with which I do not have to worry if I remembered to cock it or if already cocked did I remember to take off the manual safety or whether or not I am gripping it right to depress the grip safety and all that when a potential lose pucker factor type of situation suddenly arises to confront me. Yet, I do enjoy shooting 1911's and just owning them as well.I am not about to read 13 pages of this to see if what I am about to say was already said or not; so, am just going to put it here: You don't have one = good enough reason to get one - since variety is the spice of life.
Then do it blindfolded?I'm back home now, but I haven't had a chance to try the one handed disassembly yet.
Then do it blindfolded?
Pearl necklace?I tried that.
She complained when I missed.
Just get one of the older production. STI had problems in the last five or so years before they quit making the 1911.I recommend a STI 9mm single stack if you can find one. Doesn't break the bank. Great shooter. I had one but it was lost in a tragic boating accident.
