If one enters the US without proper authorization then a law was broken. It is NOT a felony but a law was broken. Many people think that because there are not harsh consequences that it no law as broken. That is just illogical. Agreed, I have no problem with anyone coming here through proper channels and doing what they need to to get citizenship and be a productive member of society. Had a couple of friends gain their citizenship in the military, these are the people that want to be here because they recognize this country for what it (or used to) stand for.
