Thanks for the input. I will be by the place in the next week or so and will check out and see if they are still doing this. I have replied by PM to those that have asked the name of the place. Drop me a line if you are also interested. If the policy does not change, I will put it out there for the public to view, and then possibly contact non-local enforcement agencies.

I just hate the fact that everyone is trying to track what I do. The complacency of the general public in regards to personal privacy is deeply concerning me.

I just got a letter from the Texas Comptroller letting me know that my Social Security Number, and other information has been compromised by databases belonging to The Texas Workforce Commission, Teacher Retirement System of Texas and Employees Retirement System of Texas. If these people can't keep my private information secure, how can I depend on a commercial establishment who could profit by selling my information to marketers without my knowledge or consent?

God I miss the days when people and companies minded their own business, and a paying for things with cash left no trail.:banghead:

I doubt I'd get arrested or convicted for having a boner while going through a TSA scanner I'd just tell them that I find the TSA agent to be incredibly attractive, and that I have a fetish for women in uniform ;)

    They are not all female......

I guess I missed an important point: Why do they need that information that's in your DL? Once they've confirmed your ID, I don't know of anything else they need to have in order to do business.

I'm expecting the day when tiny data chips will be put into babies that will stay in them for life. It will have an incredible amount of info on them and will be updated throughout their life. There will be readers every where and all your habits and movements will be monitored. All that will be needed to get all your personal info will be for you to walk within 20 feet of a reader (receiver). The readers will be placed everywhere, stores, subway stations, in all public transportation, and just about everywhere you go. We have the technology to do this now. All it will take is a government or president devious enough to convince the general public that this system will make them safer. It will start by "protecting" our children by being able to keep track of them and being able to locate them if abducted or lost. Initially, the system will be very handy for everyone, but it wont be long before the personal information system will start being abused. A lot of people will like the convenience of being able to walk into a store, pick up the items they want, and just walk out not having to go to a cashier. The readers at the doors will pick up all your information and the chips in the products will be picked up also. All you have to do is wait for the bill. Sounds handy doesn't it? Too bad the system can be used against us! Soon, more and more personal information will be transferred to the chip so any reader can know just about everything about you. Businesses will be able to create marketing better to attract you to buy their products. The danger lies in companies and a government that wants to control or keep track of you as an adult. A government that can know every where you go, everything that you do, everything that you buy, and just know everything about you, is no longer your government. They have just changed from being your government to your ruler. Freedom will be a thing of the past.
With the present changes in technology (some good and some seeming to be good) I see us slowly moving towards a system like I have described above. You see, I just don't have a lot of trust in our government's honesty with this country. There are just too many politicians in power that put their own gain ahead of the good of our country. I am not an anti-government activist, I would just like to stay free, and the less my government knows about me the better chance I have of keeping my present day freedom. The way I look at it, the strip on our drivers license is just another step in the direction of controlling the populace.

Sorry for the long response. I just sometimes anal-ize things too much!

Someone just made the "No Fly" list, lmao

    LOL That was funny.

Now back to the subject at hand.
The only place I can recall my DL being scanned is the casinos here in Louisiana.
Sometimes I get carded and sometimes I dont. If the info strip is earased and their machine could not read the info will they think the DL is a fake and not let me pass?

RFID chips already exist. They should be utilized in prisons to track and differentiate prisoners between gangs, but I'm not sure anyone has done this yet.

I'm all for tracking prisoners in prisons. There are some nasty fucks out there in maximum security prisons, if you've seen the show lockdown. If it keeps the guards safe, i'm all for it. You can say it violates their rights, but if you see some of the shit those people have done, you wouldn't give a damn about their rights.

There are many different gangs in prisons, so grouping the members together and tracking their positions will definitely help the guards see things and know what's going on, and they can take preventative measures beforehand if they notice any suspicious activity.

Nope, that thanks for the information on another problem range. I will not be sharing my business with them either.
