    karlac,

Anderson Fair Retail Restaurant was one of my favorite places in the 70's.

Also, Liberty Hall and Sand Mountain.

I heard a lot of great talent there and ate a lot of terrific hamburgers.

One of my absolute favorites was Don Sanders.

    Sadly, he's gone now...

You are thinking of Komodo Dragons.
Have been nipped plenty of times over my life span as have several dogs and none of what you have described has been required.

As with any animal bite( or any open wound injury), generous amounts of soap and water go a long way to preventing infections.
My nephew’s rescue dog bit him ( labeled “ food protective “. He bleed it well, washed it and used hydrogen peroxide. Next night he was in the hospital getting IV antibiotics. Arm bloated up to about 4 times normal. Dog seemed to have a clean mouth, and hadn’t been chewing on anything dead. Luck of the draw. All ended well.

    Don was a good friend.
First saw him playing on the sidewalk in front of Prufocks on Montrose in about 74.
