My nephew’s rescue dog bit him ( labeled “ food protective “. He bleed it well, washed it and used hydrogen peroxide. Next night he was in the hospital getting IV antibiotics. Arm bloated up to about 4 times normal. Dog seemed to have a clean mouth, and hadn’t been chewing on anything dead. Luck of the draw. All ended well.You are thinking of Komodo Dragons.
Have been nipped plenty of times over my life span as have several dogs and none of what you have described has been required.
As with any animal bite( or any open wound injury), generous amounts of soap and water go a long way to preventing infections.
