Problem is that chicago makes up the laws for the whole state.
Tampico, IL. Birthplace of President Ronald Regan. Born right above the bank. Also my dear Mom's hometown. Population 900. Spent many summers in my youth in the surrounding fields, creeks and pastures. Americans in rural Illinois are the the real deal.

Yeah they have 8.86 million in the Chicago MSA vs maybe 13 million in the state. Plus Peoria and Springfield are Chicago's evil step-sisters.

But boy go look at a county-by-county voting map for either of the last two Presidential elections and that's the only blue you'll see.

The good news is Chicago will bleed the State dry. Well they already have but the total collapse is being stalled for now. But not forever.

    Forget Illinois...

All other factors accounted, LTCs, already high gun ownership, etc... I'm still a bit disappointed by Texas! Maybe permitless carry will boost our numbers in the last quarter! Texas should be #1!

Since when are the District of Columbia, Guam, the Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands states? They are all in the list of states in that piece. Still missing the other 2 that Obama talked about - whatever and wherever they are in the world. I suppose he could have meant Swain's Island and American Samoa, so am surprised they are not on that libturd list.

I don't deny that there's some real america in IL, but the authoritarian socialists outweigh them.

Buy'em while they are hot :twin: :machine::asniper::fire:from ammoland.com blog

May of 2023 is the 46th consecutive month of over a million firearm (gun) sales recorded by the NICS system.

It is almost certain the number of privately owned firearms in the United States will exceed 500 million by the end of 2023. Seven more months are available in 2023, and the number of firearms sold has been greater than a million for each of the last 46 months.

So in 2024 POTUS election I wonder if the total number of guns in US will be discussed.

Why should the number of guns in the US be discussed? Why not discuss the amount of drugs brought across the border?

    Out here by the lake!
    From the article,

“The state with the most gun sales through the first five months was Illinois at 5,285,820. The state has only 4% of the population but accounted for 27% of gun sales for the period.”

Tell me there ain’t some shady shît going on there. 5x+ our guns sales for the month.
Illinois started issuing handgun permits. Chicago’s biggest problem has spread like the cancer it is, outside the city.

Ho-Hum just another month of over 1,000,000+ in gun sales. This makes 47 consecutive months of sales this high from Red State blog.

    Translation: Gun grabbers be damned.

The firearms trade association National Shooting Sports Foundation said that of 2,152,187 background checks in June, 1,110,696 were likely for firearms purchases and transfers, the remainder for concealed-carry and other security permits.

I tried to do my part with a new Mossberg 940JM model for local shotgun matches. How about you?

I always find firearms sales intriguing in Illinois. There are always reports that surrounding states and set gun stores in Illinois are why so many firearms are in that state, and that is why their strict gun control laws don’t work.

Then I remind myself that the ATF can track every recovered firearm a criminal is caught with, and that if a set gun store or person was responsible the ATF would have proof in a matter of months or a year. But they don’t. Then I recall how many firearms the Government loses track of/has stolen be it the FBI, Mil, or other agency. I used to read daily reports on stolen/lost Government weapons and credentials.

Good for the people of Illinois, to buy firearms to protect themselves, as the police have no obligation to protect you or your family. Lawful gun owners make places safer, as criminals want easy victims.
