I just received my renewal card. It is a weird color like it was run thru the washing machine but it does not say passport card.

Mine was not up for renewal until March 2024 but I received the renewal notice and submitted the online renewal request and received my new LTC in 31 days. I'm good to go now until 2029.

If you are new to ‘’passport cards’’, please read-up on them, as they are NOT good for everything a passport is needed for.

So it is not a self-contained passport in itself.

Some of us learned this in more difficult ways. . . . . .

The passport card is good for ground entry as in cruises and border. By plane requires the book if I recall correctly.

Your passport card will also get you back from Mexico and Canada.

Technically, it’s a passport card and is only valid for land or sea travel to Canada, Mexico, Bermuda, and certain Caribbean nation. You need the book for all other international travel methods and destinations.
