Andre3k, you are correct, sir!
Membership is limited to 300 IIRC, by charter.
We are alive and well.
I had a former member track me down through arfcom and ask me to sponsor him for membership. I agreed.
We had had a sudden vacancy of 30-35 memberships and the membership call out was announced. We met at the club, did a little shooting then got to the paperwork. I signed, another member signed(who happened to be the membership chairman)who then suggested the prospective member take his twice signed form and introduce himself to some other members on the line and ask for their signatures as well. Prospect told the chair that he's good, there are only two signature lines anyway.
Needless to say he didn't make it in.
Every time I've been asked to "sign" I've been part of a string.
