These were utility tubes that two sided one half the wash machine dumped into. The other side washed the dogs, empty the mop bucket.

Laundry tubs. Where the laundry was done by hand, until Dad brought home a wringer washer. Ours looked just like the one in the "I Love Lucy" skit.

Our left side had a 3/4 cover on it, that all the laundry stuff sat on. The wash machine drained into it.

The right side was were we took bathes when supper dirt until we out grew them. The dogs got their bathes in them too.

My brother and I got our hair cut by dad across from those until we became long haired freaks!

My grandmother had those. She had a modern washing machine. I don't know how it was done but the wash water would drain into one of the sinks and would be reused by the machine. I thought it was weird/cool because my mom's didn't do that.

It is possible to walk uphill both ways…

We lived a mile from school, and there was a valley between us and the school. So, we walked down from the house and then up to school. And then down from school and up to the house.
