Marlin Dark in .30 Super Carry with a .30 cal can on the end of an 18 inch barrel. Sidearm to back it all up - an M&P full size in .30 Super Carry with +6 extensions so you have 28 rounds in the pistol, 27 in a backup mag, and 100 in twin bandoleers strapped to your chest. You've got a Shield Plus as a backup gun in an ankle holster with 16 more Super Carry rounds on tap. Your Vespa is equipped with extra cargo pods behind the seat, where you have 500 more Super Carry rounds in case you run out, or in case you meet a friend who needs some Super Carry.

You are now responsible for the deaths of 3 forum members.

I'd take a normal Marlin in .45acp.
The tube magazine would give pretty good capacity on that stubby round.

There is an outfit that makes a "short stroke" action 45 acp on a Marlin 1894....

Think they are in Texas??

I know someone who deer hunts in South Texas with a 308 Marlin Express, and a fella who hunts in Indiana with a 338 Marlin Express.

I've been looking at .308 levers because their bolt face rim diameter and extractor would match .45acp.
Some like the Winchester 88, Browning & Savage take detachable magazines.
Never re-barreled a lever before, but doubt it would be any more difficult than a bolt action.

I have way too many projects now.
But a drum fed lever gun would be fun.
