Its like theres two speaker wires per connector. Now I understand why folks run new wires. Sorting the harness out is an ordeal.

The top connector is the blower motor. The two next in line have the speaker wires.

    Shit.

It's a cozy 99 in the garage. Ahhh, sorta like a day at the lake. Not really, more like an easy bake oven.

Based on location I was going to guess the TRW box was the BCM (Body Control Module). Unplug it and see if stuff like the wipers, A/C, door locks, and engine starter still work.

Your right. It's not the amp. It was the door lock I crossed.

Jumping a wire directly off the head unit won't run the factory speaker. It however runs the after market. I'm starting to think it doesn't have an amp. The Damn factory speakers will only run off the factory radio. I can't prove that theory cuz the factory radio is less then pristine. Display don't even work.

The convertibles had a CD player. Think back to 94, CD was cutting edge. This factory radio is a rare bird. Coupes got cassette unless you optioned it up to the CD player? From what I read there was only 3000 of the CD radios stuck in camaros in 94. I believe only in the convertibles. Hell, maybe they put the amp in the radio?

I give up. I'm running new wires. Fuuuuuck it.

I'm gonna hit up Wal-Mart for those snap wire things. The kind that pushes forks into the wire. So I don't have to cut things. That's all I need is an electric gremlin...

This adds to the mystery. My understanding is the amp driven factory speakers up front are 2ohm. Others are suppose to be 10ohm.

    These basturds are 4 ohms

It's amazing how clearly you can think when it's not 100 degrees.

I cut the harness inside the door and hooked the speakers up. Factory wiring works fine. I was way over thinking it.

Two more speakers for the rear and I'm set.

Looky here. Some 2000 caddy out at the junk yard had this sub mounted on the package tray.

Rockford fosgate seems popular. Im coming across alot of the brand. It was 50% glued in, the rest allen head metal screws.

Whats jacked up is they have a few subs on a shelf. By the door going into the yard. With prices of $150. Rather rough looking stuff.

Guess they missed it. Cuz if it comes out the yard, its $7.12. I have no idea what these sale for new but I know its not close to the price of a six pack of Lone Star. Bet I can pawn it for $10. They'll mark it up x5.

    Dual 2ohm. 10"

    Only markings are "p2".

That one retailed for about $150. It's a pretty good sub. If you're pawning it for $10, I'll give you twice that.

    Damn speakers are expensive.

I was kidding about the pawn. I'm slowly piecing together a system. All I need now is two 6 1/4" and an amp. I'm assuming when the soldiers PCS and can't take the car, they sale them to pick and pull. Most the cars I've been rooting through had scratched military gate tags and out of state dealership stickers.

While I car diving. I ran across a shift knob in a camaro with the button missing.

Heated it up (thats why its brownish) and removed the base thingy.

1/2 bolt ground down to fit down the hole. I need to buy a hacksaw to cut down a long shoulder stainless bolt.

Alpine's mono V-Power amp is a great value amp for a single sub. 500w for ~$200. Are you going to push the door/rear speakers through a multi-channel amp or just through the deck?

Presto, got myself a rat rod looking shift knob for an auto shifter. The cut stainless bolt will be prettied up with no threads showing. I wanted to make sure the bolt thing would work first.

I'm radio system retarded. What you just wrote is Greek to me. I've never messed around with radios. I've been reading what parts I need then go from there. Wires even the big gauge stuff is all over the place out there. Fuse blocks too. Even the coaxial wires with the vcr looking plugs.

Ill Prolly buy an amp. I don't trust the stuff in the yard. Most of it is rough. The stuff that ain't, they pull and stick it on the shelf. Of course with a crazy price too. I lucked out on the sub. Got lots of looks at the counter with them asking where I got it.

The goobers stuck a caddy cts v6(non brembo) in with the dodges. It still has the front brakes. The front brake rotors on the camaro are a hair bigger then 10". The caddy breaks are close to 12" (maybe bigger).

I soooo want those but I'm sure 15" weld wheels won't fit with the bigger breaks. I'd need 18" corvette rims to clear the calibre. Then super high dollar tires for the rims. Plus break lines and spindles to fit the bigger rotors.

Damn....it would nice though. These 1994 breaks SUCK. No joke, they fell like driving drum breaks.

Shift knob wobbles. That means I either have to drill a shallow hole in the bolt head to keep it centered at the top or buy a buttload of the toilet washers. Stack them to fill the center of the knob. I'm not going through that mess.

If I drill a hole in the bolt head, only the white peg(the rod that pushes the shift plate lock down) will support the top of the shift knob.

My luck, it'll break the rod making the entire shifter junk. Oh well, $3 bucks out the window and more junk to the junk drawer.

Fill it with epoxy and drill it

I'd never get the hole straight. Lol, there's no way. It'd sit cockeyed.

What I really want is an 8 ball. That I could drill. Drill straight through, use like a 38special or 500 s&w case for the button. Flare it a hair so it stay in the ball, yet still move. The part I haven't figured out, is how to keep the ball on the shifter post. It'd take some kinda metal sleeve for set screws.

Lol, it's one of those engineering ideas you think of as you go to sleep at night.
