Shit, whole firetrucks full of water csnt hardly put them out because of the material's involved.Common types of fire extinguishers are ineffective for use on these vehicles
What these new cars need is a quick battery release, drop it on the ground and push the car to safety.
Remember, it's helping the environment!Magnesium. Lithium
If what I was told recently is correct, Tesla is now designing their vehicles so the batteries will fall to the ground if on fire. What these new cars need is a quick battery release, drop it on the ground and push the car to safety.
I don't care what the batteries do, I have NO plans to own an ev.If what I was told recently is correct, Tesla is now designing their vehicles so the batteries will fall to the ground if on fire.

I don’t either, I was just pointing out that what he is suggesting may be a real thing, or close to it.I don't care what the batteries do, I have NO plans to own an ev.
Flames spread way too fast. Car is a goner by the time you know the fire has started. What these new cars need is a quick battery release, drop it on the ground and push the car to safety.
The battery pack must be pretty flat then. Teslas are fairly low slung, so I’m not sure what good that would do if you cant clear the car from over the battery pack.If what I was told recently is correct, Tesla is now designing their vehicles so the batteries will fall to the ground if on fire.
I haven’t seen or dealt with it myself so not really sure how much it improves accessibility. Other companies make tools to slide under the vehicle and punch a hole in the bottom of the pack as well. But not sure how well they really work. The battery pack must be pretty flat then. I wouldn't want to try that while it's on fire!I haven’t seen or dealt with it myself so not really sure how much it improves accessibility. Other companies make tools to slide under the vehicle and punch a hole in the bottom of the pack as well. But not sure how well they really work.
feds will develop an insurance program, similar to National Flood Insurance Program. How long until the electric car becomes uninsurable? Horror stories persist.
The greenies can only hide so long...
