I do not recall that any movie ever inspired me to obtain a specific model of firearm but forgive my little gray cells for not remembering. Some films noir, like those featuring Humphrey Bogart or The Thin Man films had me checking what types of gun were used in their filming.
One television show probably had an effect on my like for the Colt Detective Special. That was Dragnet because the character of Detective Joe Friday (actor Jack Webb) carried one.
