    I regularly carry either a P229 SAS in 357 SIG or M11A1.

    I EDC a S&W MP9 with two spare mags.

I don't normally carry a 2nd spare, but an M&P9 + a spare mag is what I like too. I wish the 2.0 had the beavertail tang option of the original. I do like most of the 2.0 upgrades, but my old gun shoots flatter than the new ones, and the biggest difference I can see if the beavertail.

I'm 6'0", 165lbs. About as skinny as a man can be when not from Ethiopia or Venezuela.

I WANT to carry my .40 cal double stack 2011 SVI (my main competition blaster)... but it looks like I'm wearing a portable oxygen generator or CPAP machine under my shirt...

    90% of the time it's a P365 in my front right pocket, and 10% a P938.
Got ya' beat a little, I'm 6'2" and also weigh 165 lbs. (on a good day). I wear a lot of loose clothing!

Gorgeous guns! Color me PB& Jealous

Thanks brother! The two-tone was originally a Gen 1 DAK that I got off GB for...get this $275 shipped. Turned out to be in like new condition. Had it converted to DA/SA by Robert Burke (he's local to me), added a 357 SIG barrel to make it dual caliber, and the aluminum Hogue grips I got thrown in on a local FTF deal for another Sig. The M11A1 wasn't near as cheap.

You don't notice the weight of the 2 spare mags when you add a taser, 2 handcuffs, a baton, radio, TQ and pepper spray...

I am not a big guy (5'4" & 165lbs), so full size just does not work for me most of the time. My main EDC handguns are M&P Shield 9 or Ruger LCR 38SPL. The bigest gun I carry is a CZ P07 when I am on TXARNG duty.

With my M&P Shield I carry either in a CrossBreed Mini-Tuck or an OWB custom kydex holster. For the LCR I use a leather OWB holster from Ruger. When i carry the P07 I use a custom OWB kydex holster from Black Rhino Concealment made for the P07 with Olight PL Mini.

Well, my compact double-stack 9mm with a full magazine weighs almost as much as my single-stack 1911 with a full mag. So the weight factor is not important to me.
I use the compact 9mm when I really want to conceal and I take the 1911 if I don't care. Especially in the winter with a heavy coat, the size is no factor at all.
You should choose what you prefer personally. From aesthetics to practicality. The people of Internet should not force their opinion on you. It is your life you are defending, choose what suits you and the given situation. Don't let us get in the way.

I often carry full-size, but I am 6'3" with "I quit tobacco" weight to lose to get back to 250. :) The last time I left the house, I was wearing a P226R 9mm IWB. In full-size, I have been known to carry a 1911, and full size Walthers and Glocks in 9mm and 45ACP depending on the mood. I consider the G19 a compact weapon.

Who all carries a full size pistol? What is your carry, what holster do you like, and why don't you go with a compact frame? Any other advantages beyond capacity and maybe velocity? Thanks in advance.
I am 6'2" and 200 lbs. can't stand short grip little pistols.. I carry a CZ P09 with 19 round mags and one extra. If that doesn't get the job done then I am heading to my truck to get the hell away.

I picked up a new Glock 45 a few weeks ago. I am not a Glock, Striker fired, plastic anything guy but I really like this one. It has made it into the EDC pile. Carries very good even in the cheap holster it rides in.
I added some night sights and a connector with a polish job and it shoots well too.

    To All,

For those who are not on the mailing list of www.classicfirearms.com, a limited number of TISAS 1911B "Duty" .45 ACP pistols are back in stock for 439.oo with free shipping to your FFL.
(IMO, that is the BEST "cheap" 1911 "clone" around.)

NO, I don't work for the company. Just info for those members (besides me) who want one of the 1911s.
(The first "Duty 1911" that I saw/fired on the range, I "over guessed" the price by 600.oo.)

    yours, satx

Doesn't that piss you off that a damned plastic pistol is so easy to shoot well.

If it’s cold and I can wear a jacket I tend to carry an HK VP9 in a Safariland retention holster
