I had very good results with a circular saw. My buddy had a huge hunk like what you describe. I took my time and kept the saw spinning fast and fed it slow.

Lotsa lead chips everywhere but it worked well.

You need a young buck to do that for you - pay him in wisdom and shooting experience?

Well I've got skill and wisdom on its way, and together we'll tackle this lead plate like two old bulls with an attitude. And I'll repay him with respect and my assistance in the future when he calls for me.
    We got it handled. :)

    Moonpie, here's an honest fact.
Few years ago thought I was having another heart attack at home. Called 911. Gave the address. The 911 operator said that address was not in their system! They spent 30 minutes trying to figure out where I was with a valid address that USPS, UPS, FedEx, and ANYONE with GPS in a stinking cellphone can find. I told the operators at 911 to disregard the call. The pain of their inefficiency surpassed my pain in the chest.

I'm from Tarrant Co and there you call 911 on a medical and you get the Fire Dept and MedStar in minutes. It was a new expirence here.

But we're careful and calculating fellas.:)

When cutting soft metals, use an aggressive toothed wood blade. The soft metal will gum up the teeth and the smaller the teeth the faster they will gum up. A wire brush may be handy to clean the teeth so you can cut again.

I have never cut lead but have cut bigger chunks of brass and aluminum. Metal cutting Sawzall blades are all but worthless. I just grab my Skilsaw with the normal wood cutting blade and have at it. Bury it and go slow.

Good luck and let us know how it works out.

And ya know what? Clif volunteered his time and efforts and I truly appreciate that. He's got my vote for senator!
